Hi Mary,This is in fact one of the trains that goes by the rec center. The train runs as everyday as needed. As needed means that if there are no cars, there is no train. They leave Canton around 9am and go through Waynesville around 11am. If the go all the way to Sylva, they return back through Waynesville around 5pm, probably around 2pm if they don't go to Sylva. The other train that goes by the rec center is P73. Again, it's everyday as need. They leave Canton around 7:30pm putting them in Waynesville around 8pm (They do not usually switch Evergreen). They usually head back to Canton around 10pm as they haven't went to Sylva regularly in a few years.NOW. All of this information applies to the line as it currently is. The line is owned by Norfolk Southern, but sometime this summer, maybe early fall, a company called Watco will be taking over. After that, I have no idea what the train schedule will be.
