"chynasmom" well you don't understand, the guy got charged with attempted murder!!!!! the white kid just got knocked the fuck out and yeah it was wrong but it wasn't right to charge that kid with attempted murder because they all knew that wasn't his intent and even though the kid has been in trouble before that still doesn't justify the charge it was a damn fight and some got whooped pretty bad,keep in mind,the kid that got beat up was released from the hospital the same day to go to a dance

i am black and this is my opinion; genarlow wilson should have NEVER went to prison! the gena 6? heck yeah they should have gotten at least a year in juvie & some probation 4 what they did. no matter how much racial tension there is violence should never b the answer unless it is self defense. i don't think fighting is ok just because someone calls u out of your name or says something about blacks u don't like. the best revenge is 2 PROVE THEM WRONG. excell in school. go to college or work.

Genarolow for president, not Obama...I don't believe he is sincere. The Wilson story is one of the most shocking accounts of injustice in all of US history. Where was Obama when this was happening. Where were all these people? The only reason the appeal worked eventually was because of the pressure the population at large was putting on the system through petitions and others like Carter and Sharpton. Obama is using this story for his own benefit. He should be ashamed of himself.

All I can say is ... if the kid that got beat down was black...and the kids doing the beating were white, would there be any charges at all? I doubt it. Definately not any attempted murder charges. You can go thru youtube right now and find hundreds of fighting videos between teens and I'm willing to bet money that very few were charged with attempted murder. Which means this was racism in the justice system and thats a problem.

i understand exactly what you're saying. i do not agree with the attempted murder charge, but i do agree that they should have been punished (which i mentioned in my previous comment). people will say things about you that you don't like until the day you die; that doesn't mean you have the right to jump on people without suffering the consequences. you don't want people to think that all blacks are animals? PROVE THEM WRONG.

Mychal Bell was not not locked up for ten years. The other guy was. He has been arrested several times in Monroe, La. This is the place he lives now. The last time he was areested was for shop lifting at the mall. A few days later he tries to kill himself with a gun in his Grandma's house. I know hwat I'm talking about. he is in the news in my local paper.

As I said I was talking about Genarlow and you're talking about bell. Never said Bell wasn't in trouble. Don't know anything about the case really. Thought you were referring to Genarlow when you mentioned 10 years in jail.

He was released a couple of weeks after this video was posted, and what "trouble" do you mean? I'm sure we'd all be reading about it in the news if he'd been arrested over anything. Unless of course you're full of it.

this is really an important case for those interested in pain management. see Rosenberg article NYTimes 6/17/07. He never should have been convicted, and his conviction keeps many doctors from prescribing appropriate amounts of pain medication. Justice, but way too late.
