Aah what size is the axel nut, 98 v6 accord? Heard you shouldn't use the
torque wrench like that to loose or tighten bolts, could cause the
calibration tobe off.
Size varies if is an aftermarket or original usually is a 34.
I've always used a torque wrench have no problems but is up to you what you
want to use.
Fixing my 91 Honda Civic Si. Replacing axle seal. PART 2
In this video i remove the knuckle from the axle shaft remove the axle from the transmission and remove the ring/seal i dont show the installation but its the same ...
Hey man, good video. I noticed that it looks like you only have a jack
supporting the car. i hope you had some other support other than just a
hydrolic jack. A good friend of mine died last year by having a car fall on
him in his garage. his daughter found his body. They miss him. Always
support the car! Thanks man!
Thanks for posting, couldent find any thing on what's involved in getting
at the axel seal. My 97 civic dx has the same issue on the passenger side
and i really didn't want to take it to the shop and have them fix it (>.>
quoted me 100$ and the parts something like 15$... like wow..)
Nitrile gloves. Good. But I don't see any jack stands in the video.
According to the NHTSA, nearly 5,000 injuries per year are caused by
slipped jacks. While I'm at it, you're also exposing yourself to brake
dust, which still has asbestos. Google the asbestos facts from the EPA.
Good job buddy. I'm doing exactly the same thing on my 90 Celica for my
drive axle seal and hopefully it doesn't leak anymore as I can see it's
leaking from that area. Did u top up more gear oil in there or what?
No jackstands... I was waiting to see it fall on his chest
