This video is rubbish it dosent help people u don't really say how to do
anything clearly and I would not recommends this to a beginner who is
wanting to draw realistic animals
I'm not good at drawing realistic animal fur, and this video helped me! So if it doesn't help you, ok, then don't look at it, but let other people look at it...i do recommend this to people that wanna learn :). I'm not trying to be rude, it's just that he is really good at drawing and he wants to learn people as well. I'm sorry if my English is rubbish.
I would really like to know what animal species this "fur" is supposed to
be. I have worked with many veterinarians large, small and exotic animals
and have never seen any type of animal with these types of coats. Thumbs
down, dude :P
My Newfoundland Dog has fur like the first, the second could be any course haired animal, such as wolf, shorter strokes. Of course this lesson was about texture and value, showing how it can be achieved. Length of strokes, contrast and range are all the choice of the artist once the skill has been shown. The same principles can be applied to hair, whiskers, beards etc. It might be to your benefit to re watch the video now you hopefully have the correct perspective in mind. ☺️
+Rhonda Magee Hi Rhoda, Thanks for your comment. Perhaps you're missing the point. This lesson demonstrates how to handle the value and shading necessary to create the illusion of texture, like fur. It is is simply two different approaches to accomplishing this. You can apply these principles to drawing any fur that you like.
The second one looks like dog fur or in particular a wolf.
