this is a really pretty car i jus dont like that he brought the front bumper the bottom and but that piece that goes across the grill.. he should've left the original grill and left the bumper where it was n it would'v looked alot nicer.. beautiful job

Hp? What block motor? What type of Cam setup? What gears are you running? What type of restoration? Numbers match? and most importantly way to contact? email etc etc... i am an avid car collector- i like what you did to this particular 55'.

if it wasnt so low, had better rims on it and was a hard top, then it would be a decent car....whoever did this ruined the car.....but it took a lot of work and skill, dont get me wrong....not my taste.
https://gp4.googleusercontent.com/-ttFXQSSxkPA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/gDP7M6jBhiw/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
its clean but still ugly to me...the ferrari style egg crate grill is one of the main reasons i love the 55...and slamming it is just a no-no in my book. that treatment on a '50 merc is much cool imho
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-kH373LAzPGA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/NpmCD13LKOc/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
its ok, but i prefer the more old looking kinda cars. you dig. two tones and kinda worn out color. those old rims ahaha. wheels of steel. have fun with that , catch you on the boulevard

@06DESMARAIS ..i agree, it's too low for my tastes, but that's just my opinion; it's his car, he can put skates on it if he wants too..

A true RARE classic..! A friend has a 57 Nomad with fuel injected 283 V-8 in her garage & has refused $ 35,000. for it in "un-restored" condition, has a good body, but has a rust problem around the rear window gaskets on each side, crank in tailgate still works & the 283 was in running condition the last I saw the car about 5 years ago..
https://gp5.googleusercontent.com/-3PenjpvCPzo/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/YK51SY0N7aQ/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
They are definitely starting to command strong money these days. It's getting really hard to find nice, solid originals like your friend's car. Thanks for taking a look at this one!

I guess I should have been stored in a garage for the past 57 yrs. inside that Nomad...hehehe...probably wouldn't have so many aches and pains.
https://gp3.googleusercontent.com/-6mg5BOIHpXY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/bxLYnY7Yktk/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
You can really refer to this one as a 'shooting-brake' or maybe it is spelt 'shooting-break'. Has to be one of the best around.

Nice video and thatis a very nicely detailed car, could you also take a look at that shelby cobra in front of it? Thanks

They only made 2 door Nomads from 55-57. Thanks for taking a look at it. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!
https://gp5.googleusercontent.com/-3PenjpvCPzo/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/YK51SY0N7aQ/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
All you had to do was keep it in perfect condition for 57 years. Thanks for checking it out my friend!
https://gp5.googleusercontent.com/-3PenjpvCPzo/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/YK51SY0N7aQ/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Yep, this one is better than new. It really is a beauty. Thanks for checking it out my friend!
https://gp5.googleusercontent.com/-3PenjpvCPzo/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/YK51SY0N7aQ/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
That it is. Strangely though, the name Nomad doesn't really conjure up images of the ocean.
https://gp5.googleusercontent.com/-3PenjpvCPzo/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/YK51SY0N7aQ/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
If the Nomad's a rockin', don't come a knockin'...lol. Thanks for having a look my friend.
https://gp5.googleusercontent.com/-3PenjpvCPzo/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/YK51SY0N7aQ/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
It really is a top quality car. I'd say it's far nicer than a new one would've been.

The carburetor, intake manifold, valve covers, dog house, cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, vacuum advance, fuel line, generator and it's location, thermostat housing, engine fan, etc are all incorrect for that year. He might have a 55 block, but I still wouldn't consider that the correct engine with half the engine's parts being incorrect. I can see nothing that looks original to the engine. The front motor mount bracket is missing too. Maybe the air cleaner is original, but we can't see it.

@Rogers6StringSongs Yep! There were a few 55s with the straight 6, but most had the 265 V8. To show that it had a V8 in it, the "V" in the Chevrolet script on the front fenders was big and gold. I think they show what I'm talking about at the end of this video. Bad ride :)

@XboobtubeX never knew that but then again you vette guys love throwing #'s around. mine is a 3-spd. stick non-synchro in first gear. supposedly only 26 stick vettes in 55. you have that # as well, sir?
https://gp4.googleusercontent.com/-rJXfaFeobIY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/pXZIBrcf6wc/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
@midatlanticcycle A few late production Corvettes, approximately 75, were equipped with a three speed floor mounted manual transmission.
https://gp4.googleusercontent.com/-rJXfaFeobIY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/pXZIBrcf6wc/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
@midatlanticcycle only 7 were made with 6 cyl. in 55...and the V8 weighed less then the six cyl by 41 pounds
https://i1.ytimg.com/i/H5We9U7zqCsrwYKL3iyjwQ/1.jpg?sz=64
whats the technical term for when the body extends down between the seats? i love that look!
https://gp4.googleusercontent.com/-rJXfaFeobIY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/pXZIBrcf6wc/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
@1971SuperLead this is a 1955 vette, not a '53 or '54. 1955 was the first year for the V8.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-P4yS3IH92zw/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/e6PKuuEGvEA/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
believe it or not out of the 700 55's built, more had v-8's than the blue flame six.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-JOklFo4hpqc/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/JYHWxlQHAn4/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
for one that engine has an alternator & not a generator that was original
https://gp5.googleusercontent.com/-GCsu5p47HY4/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TzyvRXKvsgE/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
I think this old Corvette more beautiful than the most recent Corvette!
https://gp5.googleusercontent.com/-dlq8kyBiXpw/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/6hnRW_G-1-I/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
@XboobtubeX I agree, but that isn't the original engine by a long shot.
