WahooOOoOo I've been working on this video for the past 428000 years so I really hope you enjoy it!! If you have any questions at all please just leave them in ...
Thank you so much for this video! I'm currently doing a foundation year in
visual communication and I feel completely lost because I couldn't relate
to some of the work but when I see that you're allowed to go with
narratives and have some type of freedom it's reassures me a bit :) I was
wondering how life after uni was for you? Is it possible to find a job with
an illustration degree afterwards? (if you don't mind answering)
Of course, thanks so much for watching!! I'm so glad I reassured you a bit, I think looking at lots of people's work can really inspire you and scare you a bit at the same time (that's what I found anyway!) And life has been surprisingly great!! I got a job as a book designer at Simon & Schuster SUPER luckily which is a dream - but also many of my friends from my course are doing very well, all of them are working in design in some way so there is definitely hope in finding a job!! Feel free to tweet or message or anything if you'd like any help, good luck!! :)
I'm starting an illustration degree this month! I'm so nervous but loved
your video it is inspiring!! I was wondering, do you have any tips on
research?
+Millie C Thank you so much! As far as research goes, I would always try and direct your research to what you really enjoy, then you'll do more of it and the more you have to show the better! It depends on your tutor though, some really care about it and look into what you're researching and others only care about how it's informing your work.. so try and figure that out if you can ;) Also USE LIBRARIES. I hope that makes sense!! Good luck!! <3
seriously such a cool project, comes across as a mixture of german expressionism and tim burton gothic style. was it ordinary foam board and what kind of glue?
+richard lane Thanks! I did a pretty botchy job making the shapes of the buildings with foamboard, with the printed nets just printed and stuck to them!
Pip, this was absolutely incredible. I'm still kind of in shock of how much
work must've gone into that project, and how original it was. You are so so
talented.
This. Is. So. Fucking. COOL! I literally like got emotional when you showed
your final photos because they're just so so badass. So much respect. I'm
sure you worked ridiculously hard and I'm really grateful that you shared
it. I really want to go to school to study literature and to possibly go
into business at a publishing house and this video really inspired me to do
so, because I just want to work with amazing people like yourself to bring
awesome stories to awesome people. Thank you!!
