@ChirtyPoundsOfBoost i think that reply would suit you best. i understand
people have their own opinions on cars. but since you don't know how to
give sources because you're a fucking dumbass, you'll never prove me wrong.
how can you say i'm wrong when i own the car you're talking about. you said
it'd detonate with the stock turbos at 15psi. i'm saying that's false
because i've been running on almost 18psi for a very long time.but you some
how don't understand that so you cry like a little bitch
In today's market there really isn't anyone using DOHC heads to their
advantage. DOHC is a more stable design. But when you have OHV engines
running 6500-7000 rpm and DOHC running the same they aren't even utilizing
their design strength. They should easily be running 9000 rpm. Or more. The
only time you even see DOHC being used to its potential is in motorcycles
and F1. At School of Automotive Machinists their car has a 440ci lsx that
turns 10,000 rpm. Thats OHV. That makes DOHC look foolish.
I feel like this needs to be said with all this import vs American stuff...
Guys engines are just air pumps. And whoever can move the most air in the
same amount of time/distance is gonna win. Let me break this down. Lets
take a 2.0L 4 cly vs a 4.0L V8. now hypothetically they have 100%
Volumetric efficiency. That said, the 2.0 has to automatically move 2x the
air just to be an equal with the v8. It can do that by running more RPM or
by forced induction. Now lets talk about heads...(continued)
@undeadkillers what would you kno?? honestly why are yu even in this
convo??? 2000hp is streetable...therefore a street engine...you seriously
just sound like a retarded wanna-be-know-it-all douchebag tryna put his
two-cents in even though he doesnt have half-a-penny to spare because he
gets all of his knowledge from watchin youtube. seriously i dont need you
to tell me the difference between a race motor or a street motor. i do this
shit everyday for a living. i dont need a "backseat driver"
@daWKin548 Oh please they're only a mildly tuned engine designed to run day
in and day out reliably to 100000 miles and beyond. Show me another man.
with a 500 hp N/A v8 with decent gas mileage, great reliability,
lightweight, mildly tuned, and as inexpensive as the ls7. You can't. You
got ferrari's newer v8 aggressively tuned close to its maximum potential in
a street application, comparatively bad fuel economy, don't even know if
it'll start on a cold day, expensive, high maintenance, ect,
@joe645733 @ChirtyPoundsOfBoost What do you guys make of an LS3 swap into
an NA 300ZX. I'm finding brand new ones for like $6,500. High end it is 2
grand more and low end, it is exactly the same as what I expect it to cost
to swap a stock VG30DETT in. I figured it'd be about 11 grand to swap and
build the VG. It seems for that I could get a brand new engine and tranny
and get all the mounts and other things needed to put them in. (And end up
lighter than a Corvette with the same engine)
@ChirtyPoundsOfBoost completley irrevelent when you've changed the topic of
this arguement (or whatever this is) about 3 times. and again you're wrong
about detonation with the vg motor @ 15psi. where are you getting this
retarded information from? a single chip from any aftermarket manufacturer
PUTS you at atleast 15psi. why would they do that if they knew it'd
detonate? and you show me the pistons for an LS1 that can handle such psi
from a turbo. or if u want, just get back on topic?
@ChirtyPoundsOfBoost what i said is true, n/a motors with turbo kits don't
need high amounts of pressure from the turbos to make good power. which is
when i stated boosted n/a motors just work differently than FI motors. and
no, a supra doesn't need 40lbs of boost lol. 26psi can easily get you over
700rwhp. and that number is pretty crazy to me for a street legal car. i'm
just stating a fact that an LS1 motor can't handle high psi. does it need
to? no, but im just sayin
@ChirtyPoundsOfBoost you didn't give one source about anything besides
telling me to look up a shop's race car that had 1500hp. i asked you to
provide the link where it's supposibly a fact that the z32tt can't handle
14lbs of boost on stock turbos, to which it was cheaper for an LS1 to make
450rwhp than the z32tt, and giving me details about an LS1 that can run
boost like a supra or evo. ^ to which i can care less bout, because i
would've rather gotten back on topic.
So technically by what i have been ranting all these DOHC engines should be
wasting these so called "junky" OHV V8s. So really who cares who made what
engine. Any educated racer is going to pick the one with good structural
rigidity, a good oiling system, and heads that move air. If you say v8s
suck you just sound ignorant to an educated person. And if you say Imports
suck you are just as ignorant. Some import engines are built/designed 2x as
good as American stuff.
@faded2blak oh look another fucking american who thinks power is the key. I
bet i could beat all these '2000hp' machines round a corner on my fucking
push bike, or actually i could walk past them when they have blown up at
the end of the road, cos if it isn't a '67 chevy big block with a roots
blower supercharger runnin on 92 octane pump gas, then you americans dont
wanna know, get gone you fags, i dont care, i posted half these comments

Good to see Tanner back out there and having fun. I really enjoyed Top Gear
USA, despite of others complaining about it. It was a good variation of the
show, with its own twist. After you get past the first season, which was
abit cringy because they were still trying to find their place, it was a
fun, entertaining show about cars, with 3 presenters who overtime built up
a chemistry and friendship which began to make the show even better.
I was extremely dissapointed when I learned Top Gear US was probably not
going to continue anymore, and that's simply because of the existance of
too many stupid people who had clarksons cock in their mouths complaining
about the show, that they had to pull it eventually. If people actually
gave it a chance, they would quickly see, it was nowhere near as bad as
people said it was.
Either way, hope he does well, Tanner is a good guy, and I hope the other 2
presenters are doing well themselves. It's a shame when the people turn
their back on something because it's different from what they're used to.
+Giantsasquatch_GamingHD 14 I imagine the ratings were far from what they needed. Too many people had deepthroated BBC (see what I did there?) to notice how good Top Gear USA indeed was.
The Japanese drivers who invented the sport would be horrified with the way
drifting is portrayed in America. Pretty sad drifting has turned into what
it has, everyone running V8's and NOS it's just a big horsepower
competition like drag racing now. The appeal to me with drifting was the
fact it was all about driver skill and not so much about big budget cars
and that you didn't need 800hp to keep up with the other cars. But now if
you can't spend 50k+ on a drift car build it isn't gonna be competitive
against the massively powerful cars in American drift today..
Drifting was cooler when everyone just wanted to get loose on track and
have a fun time now it just feels like Nascar or NHRA.
that's true, im a big fan of all styles of drift, from grassroots to pro level. and Forumla D is truly something different and D1NZ is not far behind with their wild cars and crazy driving styles.
+Ryan Cranage I think it is kind of cool to see how the same discipline evolves in different ways in different countries. I think the way the cars are built in Formula D are really next level. The guys found a way to make it truly professional. There is nothing wrong with using a slower and cheaper car to drift in other series or local events. I think it is good for the sport to have a flagship series with insane cars like this. It gets people's attention when things are louder, faster, and insane looking. There is still absolutely nothing wrong with the smaller events for normal people. Professional series are always on another level.
+Ryan Cranage I agree, and sadly the same thing happened in Japan, it's all about big horsepower and lots of smoke, which is why Keichi quit judging if I remember correctly.
+Ryan Cranage to be honest bro not every car runs 800hp in FD, but most do as you said. 1 driver I can name is Odi Bakchis. now he does drive your typical V8 swapped 240 but he runs at 650hp and shreds it with 1000hp cars. he has some of the sickest chase runs, you should watch him bro he kills it.
+GideonStyle I think what Ryan meant was, he enjoyed more where power and smokes is not the point that matters. But way underpowered cars are able to stick door to door to bigger engine cars, it has it's beauty in a way just not everybody prefer the same. If you realize that was the reason Keiichi left D1.I mean, what was the point for more than 600horses if it could be done with just 200-300? There are still many smaller tracks where putting more horses on the car just being pointless, and people adore the characteristics of 3l< engine. If every competition were require high powered to enter what happen to average financial background privateer? In Japan there are alot of skillful drifter dreamed to enter Formula D but without sponsor they barely even has the car to just qualify for top-32. This sounds derailed but currently drifting is unlike other motor racing where Junior academy are there for young talents to be discovered and get sponsored even before they have a license.Am not saying Formula D isn't the top, but it is such a subjective opinion.
Actually, there are Option videos showing D1 drivers swapping in LS1's a long time ago, even showcasing how much better they're for torque compared to the SR20. If those engines were readily available in Japan, they would swap them in left and right. Also, Orido and others have stated Formula D is the top tier, simply for having rear clipping zones now, and the extent judging we've evolved. Also, Daigo Saito and other D1 drifters have stated to other D1 drifters, that the Formula D drifters are the best in the world.Everyone is only horrified by people like you, stuck in the past & street scene, that's hurting the scene pro scene.
I like old times too-ehh that good old DTM and no freaking volkswagen or any other 2nd shelf production make.

Also, that looks like a 2.5" exhaust out the sides, you need to be running
3" 3.5" inch pipes out the back of the car. There's a reason for that, it's
to distribute weight to the rear end as the back of a Corvette is extremely
light.. On top of that it looks extremely gay with the exhaust ran out the
side. Also, I'd recommend purchasing a set of L5 fenders so you can run a
345 width semi-slick in the back without having to tub the vehicle. So much
stuff wrong with this car..
i hate when people say that drivers on YouTube suck... i highly doubt that
the people saying it have ever been able to drive a race car let alone a
fast car. It takes lots of skill and practice to drive a car fast. This guy
is driving pretty fast for the track and is having a good time sure he
makes a few mistakes but im sure thats much better than the people would do
that talk poorly about him. Driving a car is pretty simple but driving a
car really fast takes skill.
I could've made a faster, daily drivable, better handling, way better
looking time attack Vette minus that incredibly gay wing for probably half
of what you spent. It'd have A/C, power-steering, a radio, and I wouldn't
steal your carpet when removing the sound deadening. Full roll cage that
unhinges so it opens with the door., leather heated/cooled seats and at
least 700whp for right around 20k, that's including a twin-disk/f, and a
faceplated 6-speed.
It's funny how most of the people on here that talk about what a bad driver
this guy is have probably never even sat in a race car. This isn't your
mom's Camry. I'm sure everything happens very fast in a machine like
this...faster than you can even imagine. My hat goes off to you sir. You
have a passion and you're doing what you love. Thanks for sharing it with
us. I really enjoyed this video.
how did u learn to drive im fairly good id like to think but i learned from
just street im looking to get a racing licence so i can get out of the
class fo wanabe racer like most the guys on youtube lol i know basics like
shifts cornering high low high brake timing needs a lil work i can hold a
drift fine but i knows theres alot more
@cornerpocket1000 Okay, let's see you take a 700 HP RWD racecar that weighs
less than 3,000 lbs and no traction control or ABS, with a full manual
transmission around a short, low speed course with tight technical turns
and see if you can come close to the speeds this guy is putting this thing
around the track.
Dude, seriously? don't post retarded replies. My question has literally
been answered over five times and one answer was right above the "respond
to this video" section. Not all race cars don't have ABS, especially if
they don't run in sanctioned races. In fact formula 1 once had ABS but was
banned in 1993.
@Jutzujin what? are you serious? So race cars don't need downforce? Even if
it isn't a legit race car, having slicks and a wing do wonders in the
corners... braking is pretty much optional. Roll cages don't have hinges.
Fast cars don't need radio or a/c. And you can drift a vette like any other
RWD car.
I have to like it, but it doesn't sound happy. It's like something doesn't
match. There's a lot of big cam LS7's out there that stretch their wings
and fly. This one sounds like this one has some tuning issues or maybe
induction issues that are holding it back.
@zoltkonred so your sayin u suck off the driver of the car??? you think he
is hold down this monster by driving it with one hand??? Yeah i know it
dont have ABS, but there are ways around that. But you wont know cause ur
mouth is full of old cock.
Little bit of info for you, don't try to drift a Corvette, C5 or C6 or it
will slap it's cock across your old saggy face.. Second, let me make you a
REAL short throw shifter out of a C6 Z06 instead of that whale penis you're
shifting with now.
+N4CR5 I've heard some of the LS conversions use the Corvette's torque tube style transmission. The 5th generation Vettes had about a 51/49 weight distribution. That small amount of difference is negligible from the guys who gripe and complain about the exact 50-50 weight balance.
lol at all the idiots bashing the ls1. that was a revolutionary engine when
it came out. it has tons of potential, takes to mods very well, has an
enormous aftermarket, and is reliable. not only that, it's all aluminum and
doesn't weigh nearly as much as people assume. the amount of jealousy some
people feel is just ridiculous.
+Mathieu Levasseur dropped a dry sump cammed ls3 in my s2k, 1st ls3 jdm, FIA homoglated caged, t56 mag, '15 z/28 rear diff, custom dss shafts, going to be a fuckload of fun! :D
+Sam Ace Rothstein Amen. The LSX series of engines has nothing to do with the heavy and inneficient old iron block and iron head v8. Its all aluminium and composite. Its light, compact, efficient, amazing mid range power and takes on power mods like no other.
lol I've owned an s2000 for 6 years now. 01 Ap1. I pretty much know everything there is to know about the car. if you knew then you would know that the diff on an s2000 are complete shit haha anything above 400hp on a stock diff will just shatter. might last you a couple thousand miles but that's about it. yes, LS motor range from 4-6k. what I'm saying is that for the power you get out of it, also comes reliability esp if you daily. daily driving a turbo'd s2000 pushing 500hp blows dick esp in traffic. you'd run into more issues overall even tho boost is more fun. you'd be spending more in the long run.
+Joey Gomez if you knew the f series you'd know that those motors run 700 hp stock rear end stock trans and internals. And they run like that for a long time. A LS swap would cost more than 5k
+Michael Smith Not necessarily, it's still cost you about the same. a good turbo build will cost about 4k-5k alone. then you gotta factor in a new diff, axles, clutch and other little misc things to be able to put up with the power. now, you're looking at about another 4k. you might put down more but your reliability has just gone out the door esp if you daily drive it.
