What an absolute joke to watch this. The Lotus Exige (to lesser extend, but
like the Elise) is designed for a race track involving much cornering,
where the handling would allow it to pull away from the NSX much more
quickly. Videos of the Lotus Elise or Lotus Exige doing drag races is
completely missing the point of what these cars are about.
@Cartman22100 Thanks man! I thought the NSX had the best sound, for sure.
Coming up is a short vid of the Esprit driving side by side with us on the
freeway and doing a flyby!
to me the driver of the j's s2000 was driving an stepping on the break alot
and if i was driving behind him i would back off and not push as much he
played mental games and so to me both cars are about the same .
I think that Spoon FD2 is a good example of how not lowering the suspension
geometry can result in good "handling". But of course everyone has the own
theory of good handling.

+Vi5oC4n3 No offence meant and none taken bro. I use triple screens but I only used the center one for recording since youtube does not take kindly to 5760x1080 uploads and just looks ultra bad. That's why it might look a bit like watching through a tunnel since I basically cut off the side monitors. xD

hey man I live in red lion/windsor pa welcome to come by the garage and you can show me on some spare 2zzge heads where it's so inferior. or be at the next maryland hunt valley meet. calling you out. mines a white 06 exige.
+4G63PWR hey come to windsor pa or a maryland hunt valley meet. calling you out. mines a white 06 exige. send me your email. mines [email protected] IL send my pics.
+4G63PWR nothing I said was incorrect about the engine and it's potential. I don't care about you uploading Elise videos 8 years ago nor do intend to waste my time further than this post. I've owned my lotus longer than that. fact is after market support is huge for these engines to fix any flaws and push them to we'll over 700hp with boost all day long. sorry you don't like hearing it. if you want to play hard you have to pay. upgrading the engine is the first step. ferrari tune ups used to require an engine out. shouldn't complain about a few grand in head work to make the 2zzge perfect
+4G63PWR not sure how other owners maintain or build their engines but my entire head has a different rolling assembly. everyone who tracks a lotus upgrades the head, oil pump and pan and installs new way stiffer motor mounts. maybe don't start talking garbage for a engine you don't particularly own or have experience with working on. I have extensive experience working with the 2zzge. it's a great fast revving engine. every engine is comprised at some point for price and longevity or reliability. find your weakness and address it . k series engines have their own weaknesses. the contract with Toyota allowed the company to stay in business. otherwise the series one Elise would have been it and no more lotus. great engine. it also pars with the stronger Toyota 5spd.
+Evan Krantz Aside from the fact that Yamaha drilled the third cylinder intake oiling hole on the valve cover at the wrong angle. Causing catastrophic rocker arm failure, wiping of the intake cam, and the typical third cylinder misfire associated with the failure. Needless to say, I know what I'm talking about.Do your research. Lotus had originally asked (practically begged) Honda for an engine contract, but could not seal a deal. Toyota was their last hope to avoid using their ancient, gutless, shitheap of a Rover K-Series engine. No shit they're not going to use a cast iron block design from 1989.
+4G63PWR 2zzge has same potential as any other motor. the 2zz weighs less than a honda motor or your 4g63 and revs higher. mine revs to 9500 with and 14 to 1 pistons and titanium valvetrain. motor was selected for weight and high revs maintained in corners
