Martin composed this "Overture in Homage to Mozart" in 1956, on a Mozart-year commission from Radio Geneva. He later wrote that it wasn't a matter of Mozartean pastiche, but rather "the simple expression of a love and admiration that only grow over the years." Many of us whose lives have been touched by Martin's music could say the same about his oeuvre. This short occasional work has never been recorded commercially, so a big THANK YOU for posting it!
