Nihil made a clear distinction between theory and fact. A fact is something that is quantifiable and measurable. When you gather lots of facts together, you have a data set. A THEORY is what EXPLAINS all of the facts, and a theory is tested every time a new, relevant fact is discovered. For instance, whenever a new species is discovered, or a new fossil is dug up, it conforms to the theory of evolution. When we find something that doesn't, the theory will be abandoned or altered.

greenmanj23 - 3 There are almost NO gaps in the fossil record (particularly in human records - something that is a backbone argument to many fundamentalists). There have been those who have sought to undermine or deter the exploration of our amazing history through deciet and trickery, but in every instance they have been exposed as the frauds they are and debunked and disgraced. Source ANY respected university on the fossil record and you will see that there are in fact no gaps.

greenmanj23 - 2 Students (high school students I assume you are talking about) don't get the opportunity to "question" the things they are taught! Should they question the math they are taugh? The english? NO, of course not! They learn what we know is true so that they can have the knowledge base later in order to be able to ask those fundamental questions about the universe and how it works. Without this necessary background in education they can't do this.

greenmanj23 - 1 Evolution is a SCIENTIFIC theory, obviously something you know nothing about. Evolution is a fact, not a theory, but because we cannot time travel (yet) to actually see it, it remains a scientific theory. One that is bound in billions (yes thats a b) of gigabytes of data and millions of hours of research by thousands and thousands of respected and genius scientists. It doesn't matter one tiny iota what you think or feel or have faith about.

i wont use all ur fancy words because i dont need to just to sound reasonable...thats what ur trying to do...look smarter...take the elephant, they know how they evolved, take giraffes...humans from austrolopithecus to homo sapiens sapiens, u have a bunch of species between them, and fossils to prove it... im a physics engineering student and i have a teacher that is involved in the LHC project...im just hoping to hear some good news from the CERN guys^^

there's plenty of transitional fossils for humans, the homo erectus fossils show signs that their brain size went through a lot of microevolution to get to the brain size we see in humans today, and there are several (now extinct) species within the homo genus that are very similar to humans, but appear to be different species which lived only a few thousand years ago such as flores man and the neanderthals.

I hate AT&T also. Do you know that in the entire county where my family lives there is no AT&T service?!? So no one in the county could have an iphone if they wanted one. I called At&T to complain after visiting for the holidays and the lady simply said "well you must have been in the middle of no where" . So I told my family they live no where. That is rediculous! This is Alleghany county in North Carolina btw. I live in Charlotte.

i guess at&t only has horrible signal issues in really large cities like San Fransisco and Orlando. I dont know, i like about 30 miles north of detroit, MI and everyone here with an iPhone never has a problem...

@gothicsakura82 No, I'm afraid not. The sad thing is, the religious can never be proven wrong, because you only "find out" when you die. No, the only way to save your ethics is through logic and reason. You may start with reading the Old Testament- that shows the amount of sick, depraved notions which were the foundations of all the Abrahamic religions. Sadly, as you can see from the LHC webcams they run a skeleton crew of a few poor college students. Fix this link to view. meltronx com/lhcweb/ . The LHC is no big deal.
