How wonderful is to let kids know what animals think about the abuse they receive in the hands of us. This book definitely makes kids think hard about their relationship with animals. We need more authors like Roger Williams to write stories such as the one in this wonderful book. I am looking forward to read more books from Mr. Williams.

I agree to a great extend with the utilitarian principle and with a lot of what Singer says. The problem with the concept of infanticide is that we cannot really know whether a child will have an overall good or bad life based on whatever disabilities it is born with. We might say that we would not be happy living a life confined to a wheelchair and with low brain functions, but we cannot know if the child feels the same way. What constitutes a good life is simply too subjective a matter.

+Dylan McKay A) There is no morally relevant difference in killing a fetus right before birth compared to killing a baby right after birth. B) Late abortions are legal in almost all of the western world in the case of the baby having a severe disability. It's not a requirement (that's not the argument), but it's a choice parents have. Applying B in A makes a clear case for what Singer is arguing for.
