2015 Audi MMI Infotainment Review in the 2015 Audi A3 Sedan
Instead of recycling old technology Audi decided to put their latest MMI system inside the 2015 A3. Join me as I check out a navigation equipped A3 2.0T model, ...
Alex, I'm curious at how this MMI system (with navigation) will function if
you DON'T opt to renew your Audi Connect LTE service. Does the nav still
operate without Google Maps and online functionality?
Alex, Thanks for this video. Any chance of an Android supplement to this
review? Some systems have additional features depending on the OS of the
phone and this might be one of them.
Hey there, nice video!!!....:D...I recently buyed an Audi A3 premium diesel
car...It has a navigation button...And when we press it,it displays
"Note:Navigation System not installed"... I want 2 ask if in Audi A3
premium,do we get a navigation system? If not,can we put an external
navigation system..And how do we update the MMI?Thanx...
Asking would've been a good thing to do before the purchasing process. Navigation is a part of the Technology Package and is a line item available option for Premium and Premium Plus models. The message you saw is the standard one presented for cars without Navigation.

I just rented this car, but when I selected Navigation, the screen says:
please insert navigation data medium.
I do not know what it is and how to insert it. I pushed all the buttoned
you mentioned, nothing changed or moved. Please help!
+mercmilan06 near the SIM card is an SD card containing map data. I bet this is missing in a rental because either someone stole it or they just didn't bother as it is a rental.
+Camille Art You probably have a car without nav, I'm guessing the four buttons around the main MMI control wheel are black and the screen will also be smaller. If so, it doesn't have nav. If not, then I'm afraid I'm not sure.
just got my self a red S3 with all the bells and whistles, your vidoes made
a huge impact in my choice. My family has a house in vermont we go to often
and you made me feel sure it could take on the snow with some tires
+MajesticSeaLion1 Hey that's great! The S3 is amazing with snow tires, I never even came close to getting it stuck anywhere and barely encountered wheel spin unless I tried to get them to spin on purpose.
Thanks for the videos you've shared with us. They are really useful for
people who are going to purchase this car like me. Is that possible to tell
me how much discount did your dealer give you?
+Simon Chuo Audi just does the first 5,000 mile service for you. Other premium automakers cover more (BMW for example) but as with anything, you pay for it one way or another and generally that's built into the MSRP which makes it a bit higher.
+sir1junior I assume you mean the button placement? I think once you get used to know where the buttons are you can do it without thought. The shortcuts are something you might need to look at (media, telephone, radio and navigation) but that also goes for the iDrive controller (it's just as hard to remember). The contextual buttons speak for themselves and are something to easily get used to. Therefore I think this is a lot safer and easier to use.
+sir1junior iDrive is nice and more advanced, however this is a lot more simplified. Simplicity is key, especially when using it in your car. iDrive has a million submenu's you have to go through in order to get where you need to be. In MMI on the other hand it's just a lot more logical and easy to use.
No this thing is clunky as hell, BMW is better then this.
Audi MMI: Audi Music Interface
The Audi Multi Media Interface system is able to connect to most devices capable of digitally storing music files, allowing you to connect to your music library.
MMI is a complete waste. If I were to buy this car again I would buy a base
model and put an aftermarket head unit in. The Nav function of the MMI is
soooo bad that it is surprising it made it out into the real world.
Mmi needs to support iPhone with a serious solution... Not this old one!
