I have a question. What is the best for me( 5.4 engine with 5 speed manual
transmission ) or (ls1 engine with 5 speed manual transmission). because I
want more acceleration.
Have a good day.
I have 96 grand marquis. with magnaflow exhust system but stock headers . msd coil. Nology spark plugs wire. ngk iridium spark plugs. so please answer my question up there.
I'm strongly considering doing this quite soon, but I'm concerned about the
software side. I have a 2008 P71, would I be able to do this swap and do
something cheesy to keep the stock tune? It's already a pricey proposition
for this kit (no complaints about the price btw! It's fair.) a T-45
transmission, shifter, clutch and any other little things I might be
forgetting. Putting a $600 tune on top of all that kinda pushes it out of
my budget.
Also, would you need my existing pedal assembly before/after/not at all?
+KrazeeCain There is not any cheap way to get around getting a tune to make everything work like factory.the manual swap is not intended to be a cheap mod and if you start cuting corner the driveability will suffer wich you dont want that .
I just purchased one, and am very pleased with the quality of Pier's work.
he is able to respond quickly to any questions and is the cornerstone for
crown vic manual swap info. thanks Pier!
The New Design Clutch Pedal Shaft works like a bearing and is silky smooth. A great solution for a problem area on the classic VW. The old design clutch pedal ...
This is too easy to install. Knocked out the pin from the rear of the pedal
assembly (rear being the pads are facing you) with a punch and a hammer.
Knocked out the shaft using a flat head screw driver and a hammer. Lubed
everything up and installed the new shaft... man what a difference...
awesome! thanks!
Wow that is definantly alot smart, my hook just snapped on me and i just
found out the previous owner welded the clutch pedal arm onto the old rod..
this is very nice
Chevy Silverado GMC Sierra Clutch Pedal Assembly Replace - Broken Clutch Master Cylinder At Firewall
Were you driving along normally and as you depressed the clutch and suddenly heard a snap and the pedal dropped to the floor? Its likely that your plastic ...
I have a 2000 Silverado and I have had this same exact issue 3 times, I am
actually getting ready to install my fourth clutch pedal assembly. This
time however I designed and made my own aluminum sleeve to replace the
original plastic connecting face so it should never break again. I am an
engineer at Snap-on tools, noticed your a customer, and I drew up a sleeve,
cut off and hollowed out the connecting face of the plastic unit and milled
out my sleeve from aluminum. I will add also that all three times I
replaced my broken unit I never removed any of the dash panels. Now it was
a pain in the rear end and Im a pretty big dude but I don't think removing
those pieces is necessary. Great video and thanks for being a customer of
Snap-on, keep up the great work.
Ah OK well Im glad mine is a model where you don't have to do all of that. I actually uploaded pics to my LinkedIn page check it out. https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=AAkAABC6MtUB7ilPNcjYcWwshbEi9PBZxTfo_iQ&authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=zibZ&locale=en_US&trk=tyah&trkInfo=clickedVertical%3Amynetwork%2CclickedEntityId%3A280638165%2CauthType%3ANAME_SEARCH%2Cidx%3A1-1-1%2CtarId%3A1450141329413%2Ctas%3Akevin%20kyte
+Kev Kyte On some models its needed and others not. I don't know the difference but the one in the video would have never came out without pulling back the dash. Love SnapOn and have used them almost exclusively for 25+ years. I did drop OnDemand5 after they made the switch to ProDemand for my repair info but will always be a loyal tool customer. If you have a link to any pictures to share of your retrofit part that would be awesome! Thanks for dropping by!
+Mackie Byles That's easy. Just disconnect the quick connect fitting by removing the wire retaining clip then rotate the master cylinder 45* just like I did in the video. Reverse procedure to install and bleed the system youll be good to go. Good luck!
How's it going, I just found your video after doing this today...I too did
not remove any dash on my truck, 2001 chevy silverado 4.3 4X4. Same as
yours. But, I had to pop the clutch to drive it away today because I must
be missing something with nutrual safety switch? I did remove it completely
off the rod. (I thought I'd have to for it to go through fire wall) I
reinstalled it on the rod, but what does it do? It's just sliding back and
forth...BTW I did plug it back in. Did something break off maybe when the
clutch pedal assy. Broke at fire wall?
+Jon probably broke the switch. When this fails it can break part of the plastic switch when the pedal goes to the floor. Just replace the switch and youll be good to go! thanks for watching!
Ha that was wild, hey Tim I would have said that's a dealer only repair. I
hope the owner watches this vid and gives you a large tip and a 24 of Old
Milwaukee :)
+Steve Rob I just hope people don't watch this video and decide to call me asking to have it done here...The answer will for sure be NO!
EVELYN #22 - The 1931 Gas Pedal Assembly gets re-used
I picked up a Universal Throttle Cable Kit for $25 and on arrival home I started to think of a way to make a Gas Pedal.. Looking at the OEM unit from the 1931 I ...
Looking at that throttle cable bracket on the manifold, it has the correct
hole - if you wanted to use a 700r4 overdrive trans instead of the TH350,
your throttle bracket has the correct mount for the TV cable. 700r4 has a
lower first gear, too - quicker starts. Just make sure that TV cable is
adjusted correctly, or the trans will burn up!
@jdsprince - :^) But of course! - Actually I was also thinking of all the
GOODIES we could make.. one being a Plaque over the Airbag plate up front..
the LAST thing to go on the Car when it's COMPLETED..
+Miguel Cuevas The pedal assembly is only sold with the 5 speed conversion kit. You might try finding one at a local salvage or junk yard. Hope this helps! -Landan
