Pretty building, but not very practical. Too much wasted space. Unless
this doesn't show the whole building, we need more rooms with lots of
storage. This looks like it was designed by someone who is mainly
interested in exercise. What about all the groups that meet and need space
for the supplies they use? Is it large enough to hold the special lunches
that are so popular?
+Debbie E Hi Debbie! Thanks for your concerns. Yes, you are correct, the video is an overview of the building and does not show all the classrooms, arts, crafts, computers, games, multipurpose rooms, commercial kitchen and tons of storage areas that our instructors and staff said were important. They are there, just not shown on this video. Showing all those areas would double the length of the video. We have floor plans in our office that I'd be glad to show you. So the building is pretty practical after all. Because the camera angle is pretty wide, it makes lobby etc look bigger than they actually are. As for the luncheons, the large room upstairs is where we would hold those and has well over twice the capacity of our current largest room, so it should be pretty nice and the view will be spectacular!
+Patty Andres Hi Patty! The progress we have made so far includes paying off our existing building, purchasing 5.8 acres free and clear which have the discovery trail and utilities up to our property line. In addition, we have about $250,000 on hand. However, the total construction cost will be around $10 million, and we are applying for grants and individual donations. We have been given a 51 space mobile home that will give us income to help run a larger building when it is built. In the meantime, the income from the mobile home park is being set aside for the building. It is a large undertaking, but we are confident that people, foundations and some government sources will all pitch in to make it happen. Timeframe? It all depends when the support comes in. We are hoping in the next 6 to 8 years.
ThyssenKrupp HIGHdraulic Elevator @ Lakeridge Health South Parking Garage, Oshawa ON
Happy Victoria Day! I believe this was either an Armor or a Dover originally, but it appears that ThyssenKrupp got their hands on it. They did an amazing job with ...
Quite big for a garage elevator, last hospital i rode a parking elevator in
(Hamilton General) the elevator was the size of a tiny closet (Otis Lexan).
+Jeromee Porter Yea, main ones are just too hard to film and the things people talk about in elevators are not good to be on camera (some elevators are just too busy to EVER get one alone). When i used to film elevators i did manage to get a few videos alone in some, but those were rare (i unlisted them as i was gonna start making gaming videos, but who knows maybe i will do elevators again and relist some old videos).
+SgtMays As far as hospital elevators go, I'll pretty much only do the parking garages.
