Having the Australian Army School of Music co-located with apprentice tradesmen from 1949 to 1984 meant musicians lived in barracks guts huts with the ''tradies'' . This saw many a muso branded as gay, with broom stick rape and bashings more common than anyone seems to admit to. When the new appy school was built, there were no musos. They were allocated space at Watsonia. No longer are musos war time stretcher bearers. Today their campaign medals reflect protected band gigs in ops areas o.s. :(

As you both say, it is really quite simple and the logical person would think that a politician with a wit of sense could comprehend this. At first glance, it would seem that a politician with a wit of sense would be an oxymoron but actually they are not as stupid as we give them credit. Self interested politicians get and maintain their power by running a Mafia style protection racket. Government and Big Business are one and the same. Government has the power, big business has the money. Government protects Big Business, grants them favors and protections, in return for contributions and their ability to mobilize votes. Without being able to use the force of government, business can't make you do anything. Business engaged in healthy competition solves problems. Ivor would know this, being a problem solving engineer. Big, inefficient business, "suffering" from it's competitors, then collude and go into "business" with government. This is where the corruption, bad science and propaganda come into play. The internet is indeed the key to spreading the word and I'd credit it with saving, or adding many years of good health at the very least, to my life. Thank goodness for having run into Gary Taubes' book and Ivor's blog, corroborating and providing the science, links and proof sources to confirm my suspicions. Be aware, government knows the internet is a threat to it's power and strives daily to bring it under control..... for our "benefit" our course. Thanks for your hard work and keep up the good work gentlemen.

After many years of eating a "healthy" diet, I was getting sicker and sicker! I ignored my grandmother and listened to "health-food industry expert" (never gave up on butter though :-) ) Complimentary therapists and nutritionists were echoing what everyone else said ... then it dawned on me: "health-food INDUSTRY" So it's like any other industry - there to make money! And at the same time in physiology lectures at uni, we were learning about digestion and the high carb/ low fat thing just wasn't adding up. Exercise/calories thing wasn't adding up. Lots of things weren't adding up. Then, there's no such thing as a coincidence, I came across a book called "Sugar Blues", then Robert Lustig, then everyone else :-) and Mr Wheelock's blog. Everything makes sense now! :-) But, boy, this idea of a healthy diet consisting of salads with wholemeal toast + low fat yogurt for desert is going to take time to shift! I tell patients who come to me with digestive problems that, if they swapped their breakfast cereal for a bowl of chicken soup in the morning, they wouldn't need to see me! They look at me like I'm crazy "What, no breakfast cereal? At all? But it's a healthy low fat muesli with nuts & berries." In the mean time, lard is back in my kitchen, cereal's out (and nearly a year later the kids have just about stopped asking me to buy it :-) ) And luckily for me, I have my grandma's letters where she nagged me to come to my sense and start eating real food again :-) with lists if what I should be eating. Thanks grandma! :-)

Real Food comes from Farms, Fields, Forests, Rivers or the Sea, not from factories and usually without a barcode. Processed Foods are just edible,not real food!
