+Everyman Driver: I've seen your video since last year. Even your gig with Nathan and Roman in FLCar, it seems you over-shine them. That show cannot run smooth with only Roman or Nathan only. It has to be the two of them. Just like forner Top Gear UKs Jeremy, James and Richard. But you, is like Fifth Gear's Tiff Neddele (check my spelling), who is capable to run the show solo. I dont want to add some tips as additional, whatever on your show. Just Keep it your way or whatever you want to do width your show.
His name is Schriver I think. He definitely did the new Optima and Forte. Not sure he designed the Sportage.
2014 KIA Sorento Muddy Off-Road AWD Review (Part 2)
//www.TFLcar.com ) The new 2014 KIA Sorento is 80 percent new. From the outside it might look like a slight refreshed car, but it has a new direct injected ...
I hope Y'All keep putting out video's of family haulers that can go off
road. Plus if its a family hauler someone can have a little bit of fun in,
that's even better! We used to have a 2002 Pontiac Montana van. When we
took the 3rd row seats out the wife's wheelchair fit in it pretty good.
However the wife got it stuck a few times. Once I had to back it down over
a small hill to a road below cause she got it stuck in the snow. We usually
don't get much snow in Kentucky. When it does snow however the roads don't
always get cleared good. Oh the reason we don't have the van anymore is the
3.4 engine blew. It did have somewhere around 220,000 on it when it blew
though. On a side note to me the van was more practical than fun. I hope to
get both sometime soon.
Competes against the Murano?? How?? The Murano has NO OFF ROAD
capabilities... They are not rivals at all... About the Rav4... well, Rav4
is not in a specific segment, but it is not a competitor for the Sorento or
the Santa Fe, as they are bigger and offer more than the Rav4 that, even
though, it is larger than a small crossover, it is still seen as a small
crossover if it is compared with larger vehicles within the Crossover SUVs
segment. I think a Sorento is way better option over the Rav4.
Could it look any more like a Lexus RX on the front? Nice feature list, but
Ill take a more complete package with better build quality, I.e. a used
Audi Q5, or even an RX. Bland, forgettable, and characterless. South
Koreans have always prided themselves on being fast followers', never
innovators. That rings as true as ever with the Sorento
At 2:20, when they go through the water and act surprised, you can clearly
see that there is just one person in the car. I love Romans videos, but i
wish they weren't as scripted and cheesy. And its things like the puddle
scene that make me mad, Roman could really pump out some great videos if he
just was more natural!
The rear is an obvious hodgepodge of an Audi (taillights), and Acura MDX
(pillar). Front headlamps are obvious Volvo inspired. Most won't care, but
you can't break into the first tier ranks of the car business by being a
flagarant immitator, which is all Hyundai Group is, just like Samsung & LG
are...
Most of them scratch their heads, give us look like we are bit crazy, and
wonder what we're doing up on this trail in a brand new car. Some stop and
offer to help us because they think that we are stuck...especially if we
are parked filming the vehicle.
Japanese car was cheaper before like Korean cars. but as time went by it
got quality, reputation. it is all the same for Korean car. nowadays,
technology, development are very faster than 20 century. I think that you
have no brain to think.
Guys, what kind of looks and comments do you get from the serious offroad
guys, when they see you up the trail in some of these vehicles? Are they
generally snide, or are they impressed that you made it up that far along
the trail?
Too many brand snobs around. I used to think KIA stood for "Killed In
Action". Pieces of crap on wheels. It's simply just not the case anymore.
Brand snobbery makes people miss out on some good products.
Its a shame more and more crossovers are having less then 8 inches ground
clearance and worse depart and approach angles. Some people want to drive
in snow without hearing it rubbing the bottom.
OK, yes, muddy water splashing from the front tires looks cool... the
first. or second time... but I'm only half way through the 5th video and
you've shown it 5 times... too much. lol.
I like the CX-9 as it is the best three-row for the street. It looks
sportier to me as well. The KIA is a great all-around compromise with a ton
of standard equipment.
I don't think You have a brain at all just from from that statement you
just made, you are a very arrogant person and need some brain therapy! over
a car.
The problem with the KIA's and others is the cars have become much more
expensive but all the lower surfaces are hard plastic. $35-$38 for hard
plastic?
Does it still have insane amounts of torque steer in FWD mode? Its the one
thing I have really disliked about the Kia/Hyundai crossovers with their
V6.
Hey Roman & Nathan! Love the review! Howcome you guys never mention or
review the post 2011 Dodge Journey? This Sorento is basically a Journey
replica!
I met Roman and the crew at Cars and Coffee up in Lafayette yesterday.
Super nice guy, and great reviews. Thank you guys for all the great videos!
OWNERS review of the 2014 Kia Sportage LX
This is my review after a few weeks of ownership of the Kia Sportage. Wood pellet burning season is over, so the only thing I could find to haul was ceder mulch, ...
I agree with you about those thick 'A' posts but I suppose it all adds
strength to the roll gage, my gripe is that and the combination of the door
mirror placement.
My Sportage 2.0 liter diesel here in Korea has lots of power and torque.
184bhp and 40nm (295lb foot) of torque......oh, sorry. That engine is not
available in the USA. You guys don't like diesel for some reason.
well in summer I already get about 34MPG US in my Tucson for highway and the best I have ever had was 49 MPG in my little Kia Rio but I am probably a bit older and have had some fun already - more important to me now is getting to where I want to go without going into debt for fuel and having a decent ride on the way...but I live in snow country and that all goes to hell in the winter ( near 6 months here ) when you have to wait 15 min to get the ice defrosted off the windshield so every little bit helps...
+MrKikoboy It's unlikely you would get those figures in reality. I'm getting roughly 30 MPG US, but I've got a heavy right foot. You might get 35-40 MPG if you drive carefully.....but where's the fun in that!?
I would seriously consider the diesel as the published figures for it ( add 15% for BS ) state 5.2l/100 km or about 45 MPG US and that would certainly save you when gas goes back up in a year or so when they decide you have been lulled enough and want to shaft you again...
+MrKikoboy My thought is we Americans have no foresight . We live our lives like animals in a lot of cases. STIMULUS/RESPONSE. So, if gas prices go down, no one will put any thought into it to think that gas prices will likely go up in the future....
there's some talk about bringing the Sportage diesel to North America - I hope they do although now that gas is down the price of diesel has not dropped at all so seems like we will get shafted again if we want the option...
+arfer Not really. There's a lot of diesel love in the US. But diesel doesn't make nearly as much sense with gasoline here being sold at moderately low prices.
At first, we were waiting for low sulphur fuels, but now I think we have them, so I think it is a combination of not enough fueling stations, and lack of availability..
Mark, you mention the acceleration was lacking on your LX model, I test
drove the SX model with the turbo and there was plenty of acceleration plus
some.
Kevolicious, I am afraid the SX was a little more than I wanted to spend. Also, I don't really like turbos. From my experience you have to really take care of turbo autos, and i am not known to take care of my cars. I beat the crap out of them.. The Suburban Hippie :)
+The Suburban Hippie Experimentalist Cool man. thanks for the reply. I test drove 1 for a day and a half and that's how I knew I would get annoyed with that, especially among a 4cyl. saying that this is just my experience and not to damper yours. Sportage is very nice and different. Enjoy the new tires!
+LaVerite124 Yeah, they inexplicably burn a lot of fuel! I can't understand why others can do a much better job.. Oh well, it isn't the worst care you can have. It does most things very well. I am about to put my first replacement tires on it. I chose Continental Extreme Contact. We will see how those work out!
+The Suburban Hippie Experimentalist That is what turned me away from the 2013 Sportage. can't believe it burns fuel like that. but for some reason, I'm looking at a 14. lol. But honestly I was hoping to "want " the Sportage again but I can't get past the fuel burn. and yes, Echo off is better. cool car but gas fuel ruins it.
+Mark Daniel ImagingI think in the internal competition between Kia and Hyundai that Kia is edging ahead as far as features and design - if they could get their gas mileage down a bit I think they could overtake Hyundai easily...
Darky, I hope it works out for you! The longer I have this car, the more I decided it is a well engineered vehicle. There are numerous small touches that as I discover them I think "wow, that was well thought out"
2015 Kia Sorento SX AWD Review
Miles Branman takes the all-new 2015 Kia Sorento for a test drive. This review of the 2015 Kia Sorento is based on the 3.3 liter V6 model making 290-hp and ...
Miles - I really like your style of your review. I own the 2014 SXL and
think your review is right on. I like how you shared the nick picky
thoughts along with all the positives and concerns as well. Keep up the
great work! One the best review styles I've seen.
I appreciate the positive feedback, Tim. Thank you for watching. I'll be posting more reviews in the future. Next up is the new Kia K900 luxury sedan.
Roadfly.com - 2011 Kia Sportage Road Test & Review
Jessi Lang road tests the all new Kia Sportage. The Kia Sportage has come along way since it was first introduced 16 years ago. The compact, all wheel drive, ...
@fanzappa ofcourse it is a different vehicle, I mentioned the type
difference in my comment; why can you not compare vehicles and their cargo
capacity? No one is offroading in a kia sportage with a car chassis though
having awd would rock for winter. It seats the same amount of persons with
the same dimension comfort and carries the same cu ft cargo; I don't see
the practicality or it's purpose I guess. I'm sure it's worth the asking
price design wise, I just don't see its value is what I mean.
Real women have a mind of their own, and real women don't follow rules
given by organised religions used to control the masses. Real women think
beyond such menial ideas. Real women that are actually worthy of any time,
require proof of existence, scientific fact, reason of living beyond
praising a sky fairy for the rest of their life until they die. Real women
aren't brainwashed idiots like yourself, who are SO stuck up they can't see
the bigger picture. What god should this man follow? Zeus?
Real men honor God and real men don't talk like you. A real man is a man
that loves and serves God, a man that doesn't curse, a man that doesn't
have sex outside of marriage, that doesn't sin against God. A real man
doesn't steal, look at porn or partake in worldly pleasures. A real man
spends prayer time with God his maker, and a real man is a man that God
makes. A real man honors God, honors women, and loves God with all his
heart, soul, mind and strength. That's a real man.
Bless. Owned to the point of running away. Silly little girl, must be hard
getting away from being brainwashed as a little child. Never mind,
thankfully my parents weren't as horrible as yours :) I was actually
brought up never to look down on people, always stick up for what's right.
You however, are a tool, and a bigot. One day your day will come, and your
god won't be there for you. It's cruel really, your parents are nasty
people.
I love my '11 LX Sportage, love everything about it except I've gotten
reports from people driving behind me that when I turn my turn signal on
during the day, they didn't know and couldn't tell they were on because
they are so low and away from the attractive taillights, so this could be a
problem in the future... I may need to either get bright bright led's to
replace them or have some higher ones installed :(
That goes for men as well who agree with the commenter below me. Thought
this was about a review on a Korean SUV...as usual on here I stumbled into
a moronic, unnecessary, out of place debate. I'd rather see the
usual..."huh huh huh...who's the girl?". Somewhat inappropriate sex selling
involved in this video. Just show me the car...I don't need to see close
ups of tight jeans. (all though it doesn't hurt)
Furthermore, this review doesn't go into enough detail and should review
the other options and models. I feel reviews are incomplete that omit this.
Eh...not the most important thing to me...sorry I must go back to my
religion that is centered around a purple dragon that pets you on the head
if your good every alternating Wednesday. Don't ask about Tuesdays
Real men honour god? Real men have a mind of their own, and do not follow
like sheep in a field waiting for their shepherd. God doesn't come into the
equation. Just read your comment and listen to yourself. No classy lady?
Please, get off your high horse. Who put you on your pedestal to look down
on people like that? Your sky fairy?
Great review, very detailed and concise! It actually makes me consider one
of these vehicles. It would be nice to see a follow up video to cover how
this vehicle has faired against regular everyday use over a span of 2 years
or so. Thanks and keep up the great work!
I love my Kia Sportage! I got a red LX sportage and I got hated the
"femine" base rims (not the ones in the video) We took it to Discount Tire
and I got some nice 17" Black Chaos 5 rims put on it, it looks tough and
wide after this transformation!
i think Kia has really come a long way we have 5 Kias in my family i have
the sportage brother has serento mom has soul kids have optomia and nephew
has spectra we have had no proublems with any of them hope you review the
new optomia
yep, nasty and filthy-minded. No classy lady would want anything to do with
men like this. All they think about is themselves and themselves and
themselves. Real men respect women and a real man honors God and respects
women.
I can't waste my time with devil possessed men like yourself. I will say
one last thing and this is my last comment. There are no unbelievers in
hell. One day you will find out what it's like, but then it'll be too late.
@mjr102395 Funny, most likely a single guy who doesn't have a job and makes
his mom make him "sammich's". Get a life loser, you wouldn't want someone
talking to your mom, sister or daughters. Be respectful!
Why the filthy talk? Do you have sense enough to use intelligent words or
will you prove that you don't know how to use intelligent words when you
get upset and respond with something worse.
Yep..I've just been unfrozen from a million year freeze..and only speak
cave man.. LoL at the Mr.Clean crusade of cleaning up the internet from the
word "FUCK"..good luck with that one.
@jupitersj the sportage is a completely different vehicle. the kia has a
model that compares to the elantra at the same price point. you can not
compare cars by the cargo capicity.
2013 Kia Sportage - Drive Time Review with Steve Hammes
Drive Time review of the 2013 Kia Sportage EX AWD by auto critic Steve Hammes. MSRP as tested: $30800. Twitter @DriveTimeVideos www.
I've owned the same Hyundai, a Veracruz, since 2008. I believe I've gotten
good value for money from it. No breakdowns/unscheduled maintenance visits
in over 65k miles. An AWD system thats gotten my family through mud, snow,
ice, and downpours with no problems. I've towed a pop-up camper from 1000
to over 9000 feet of elevation and never felt a lack of power nor
unrefinement. None of the interior appointments have ripped or broken down,
that includes the DVD player and sourround sound system.
No, they're not. They're slowly increasing in prices. Why? Because that's
how much they should be worth. Every single reviewer has said the car
provides things you would only get by purchasing more options. Too many
option pckgs? WTF? Clearly you haven't seen Mini's option booklet, which
there are hundreds of options. Same with FIAT. Depreciate fast? It's
becoming much better. Drive unrefined? The vehicles are first-birthers.
Stop spreading your illogical nonsense about a great company.
Sportage owner for 2 years here. I've got the 2.0 diesel which has plenty
of power and torque. The reviewer is right, the suspension is set pretty
firm. Great for cornering, not so great for potholes. I also agree the
steering gives a bit of a disconnected feeling. I'd like Kia to change
that. I might also add that I find my driver seat a tad too firm. I'd like
more foam and support on the seats. Maybe I'm just getting old!! Overall, I
still think it's a great car, but not perfect.
It's not about what's coming down the line, but what's available NOW. Other
car companies will also have other cars coming out this year, and next
year, and the year after that. You review what's available now, and compare
it to the competition. Obviously, KIA falls short on this vehicle. So folks
can either go to a different company, or wait around until KIA gets their
act together.
I rented the 2012 version of this CUV and I was mildly impressed with its
ability to handle 8 luggages, 6 carry-ons, and 4 adults rather easily. The
8 luggages needed a bit of manipulating like Tetris to fit into the rather
modest cargo space. But the ride was something else. If you're the driver,
you won't feel the disconnect as the passengers would. It's a weird feeling
CUV.
Kia's pricing is in line with the competition, as is its reliability.
They're also more reliable than the German brands, which rarely perform
well in reliability rankings. And their resale value is also competitive
now. It's amazing how little people know about far this company has come.
The Optima just won an international car of the year award at the Detroit
auto show.
I totally agree. Although the Koreans are coming out with great products
for the past few years, their pricing are also creeping up as well so now
they cost just much as the Japanese and American rivals, even though I
prefer the more compact dimension of the Sportage and Tucson, still the Kia
name just doesn't speak luxury or refinement yet.
I took a EX AWD on a drive yesterday, probably about a 3 mile test drive.
It handled OK and the sound system is good but it is not a overly
impressive vehicle. I wish they would make the turbo available in the EX as
well instead of just the SX. I want the extra power but do not really care
about all the other stuff that comes with a SX.
Our 2013 LX which we bought brand new late last year and now with about
7200 miles is the best CUV we had... very stylish, efficient and reliable.
The ride is kinda stiff but turning at high speed compensates its
"stiffness". With its 5/10 year warranty... its all worth the investment.
People learn your facts before you comment. KIA has become a lot more
reliable. Every car company has issues with their vehicles. Yes the ride is
a bit stiff but with the refresh that's coming later this year I'm sure KIA
is going to address that an many more issues.
kia is known for giving a lot of car for the money and great warranty.
however, now that they are priced comparable to the big boys they need to
step up the suspension refinement and engine offerings, nice but too many
downsides at this price.
I keep reading reviews on these things with users saying that its's pretty
damn unreliable, there's a couple on Edmunds that said this car left them
on the side of the road. That sucks, because I love the look of the
sportage.
was in the market for a new cuv. this was high on my list because of its
style and value but after driving it i was turned off by its lackluster
driving dynamics. it is a toss up between the crv and the cx5 for me.
Kia/hyundai are getting waayyy to pricey and have too many option packages.
They also have very cheap plastics on the interior. They also depreciate
fast and drive unrefined
