That one didnt want to leave home :)
That fuel level sender was very logrithmic in operation, 200R max
resistance but it was down to about 60R in the middle.
Ahh a good pair of molegrips / vicegrips, every toolbox should have some,
along with stilsons pipe wrench and channel locks :-)
hi there. i did this procedure on my 05 hyundai elantra but i don't have a
electrical signal for the pump and the car doesn't start. what's the reason
for this?
Where can I find replacement parts for this??? I've looked at oreilly's,
autozone, rockauto for both an 06 elantra and my girlfriend's 04 accent
(both have internal filters from what i have seen/read) and they are all
trying to sell me the inline external filter.. not that white piece. Any
help? Please!
awesome video dude!!!!...........but can you buy the whole unit that you
pulled out with out taking anything apart.....???.....like just take the
whole thing out and put a new one in? complete?
I bought a new fuel filter when my 2003 Elantra reached 105,000 miles
because that's when the manual says to replace it, but the dealership said
they don't replace them (maybe they want to sell you a whole fuel pump
assembly). The process of replacing it seemed daunting though, and I put it
off. Now it's at 160,000 miles and I watched this to see how big a job it
really is. Should I attempt to just replace the filter if I'm having no
other problems (other than decreased power and fuel economy) or should this
be done only if you're going to replace everything? (I read that there are
o-rings not included with new filters you need to reuse from the old part
and I don't want to end up with a car that won't start because I messed up
not putting it together just right!)
+Brent Brown Well it really depends on your mechanical aptitude, and how comfortable your working on cars. Generally I just start ripping stuff apart and will figure it out as I go. Your correct in that some of the o rings aren't included. Just be careful not to tear them. I would always keep up on the maintenance of a vehicle because it ends up costing you more in the long run
+jose gomez I removed the transmission oil pan, but nothing in there. I guess it should be somewhere inside the trans, but not sure if it indeed comes with one.
+Andrew Smith could be one of many things. Engines in the simplest form need 3 things to run- spark, air/fuel mix, and compression and it all must be timed right. What you may have is a weak component in the fuel supply or possibly a sensor going bad that controls the spark timing
I had this repair done by a mechanic. Now I smell gas in the cabin when I
fill the tank. It goes away after some is run out. Did you notice this
after your repair?
that one guy how about doing a walk around on that little car back in the
corner did you keep walking by white blue let's look at it electric car is
what I'm talking about
I was amazed when he said it took 1 fuel pump the big one and with a slight
head scratch i checked the EPC and WIS the W124.584 came with a dual fuel
pump setup and no updated part# on the fuel so Most definitely that fuel
pump as changed in the past and the car will not Run "perfect" but great
due to lack of fuel PSI pressure from that single pump
