Eric hjorleifson compares big mountain to World Cup super G in the same sentence. I'm going to have to call bs on that one. Ski racing is so much harder than sliding down hug powder ramps with perfect landings. If you race at even a competent level, "free skiing" is really straightforward ( and fun).

+EmceeHo13 I believe ex~racers make the baddest ass free skiers. MCkonkey, Morrison . . . Oh, yeah Chris Davenport was A former alpine downhill racer at the Holderness School in New Hampshire and the University of Colorado. Morrison went to Western State in Gunnison and raced/trained at Crested Butte. McConkey raced for Burke Mountain Academy. Any more questions?

+Big Wave I come from a racing background and I agree with Wave. My skill set is much broader than any of my ski buddies that didn't race. For example my best friend grew up in Telluride and can throw it down with the best of them but isn't as well rounded of a skier. Racing puts an emphasis on vision and anticipation, looking down the hill farther and adapting to the terrain more fluidly. Big Wave is right!

yeah the ramp is super slow the plywood under the skatelite is soggy, sucks up your speed, but hey its dry...

Jeg sier det igjen, her over Østfold har det snart vert regn og snøbyger siden nytt år. Når det ikke regner eller snør, er det overskya da oxo. Når sola prøver å bryte igjennom enkelte dager, så ser en flya holder på å spraye så det holder seg overskya. Ser ut som jetstrømmene eller vindstrømmen treffer akkurat her. I Trondheim har det jo uvanlig nok vert lyngbrann og knusktørt.
