+DrRobbocop i'm not saying the ecoboost is shit,but maxed out fully built it would probably make around 600-700HP,where i can put a supercharger stage 1 on my 5.0 and i got 580,and it costs me $8k,the ecoboost you'd be over 10k at least.

Gymkhana is a hellishly demanding sport, the v8 is a tad more reliable and predictable than the econ lost.

I think it is because the 5.0 is a tried and tested formula. Like Chev LS motors everyone knows how to make big/reliable power out of the Boss motor. Its relatively easy to do. The 4cyl although forged is going to take some development and time to work. But overall there is no replacement for displacement.

That is a choice by Ford.  Why give the 2nd least expensive model the highlight when you can promote the most expensive model.  business 101, make everyone believe they need the most expensive product you have to offer. I see your condescending comment and it makes me sad, we have an amazing array of Mustangs why not be proud of that?  I plan on buying an Eco-boost because i drive 90 miles a day.  I'm helping you to still have a 5.0 V8 in production because the Eco-boost can get the mileage CAFE requires.

Give an ecoboost to a euro or jap company i think they'd do a pretty good job - americans don't seem interested in anything less than a V8! 

They don't know how to modify the ecoboost ????
