Rear Axle (seal) replacement 2010 Nissan Frontier

Do you have to replace the whole shaft? Can I just buy a new seal and replace it?

+cpkelley617 When I asked for the bearing and seal from the dealer parts department, the axleshaft assembly as pictured in the video is what they pulled up. I talked to some other techs and they said that it's easy enough to cut off the old bearing and push on a new bearing and seal, but to be honest, it cut a lot of work out of the repair. I didn't have a hydraulic press, so I was just as happy to do it as all one piece.I'm not sure the cost difference.

great info! Took the truck today to the stealership cuz all my ABS/Slip/DifLock light are on...yuppers got a blown seal and need to change the axle. Will obviously go ahead on find my own parts and fix it for 1/3 of the price. Do you know if it's the same for a Pro 4x ? (V6 with offroad package)

Be sure and check you axle vent too, just doing the seals on an '07 here and the vent was plugged solid.
