It is a interference engine. You need to align the 3 Timing belt marks and cylinder #1 is on the compression stroke and the distributor point to the #1 wire before the timing belt comes off. After the belt comes off, DO NOT move the crank and the two camshaft. If you do, you will be in a lot of trouble.

you need a pulley remover...you wont get it off without one. it holds pulley in place while u screw in the whole on the pulley and with a wrench it pulls off...i showed the tool in vid.

I'm struggling to remove the crankshaft pulley right now on a 2000. I think I need a better strap wrench. Any suggestions? Thanks!

lo que pasa que yo comprer un kit marca wiss part en ebay y me sigue sonando la cadena en ocaciones y otras veces no , como que el tensor no isiera su funcion. nota le puse aceite quaker rojo 100,000 .......tendras alguna idea de el porque pasa esto? saludos

now make sure when u get the timing chain on the cams and crank shaft correctly  u arm the tensioner before u close it up

+nlhcmario25 yes after taking off the power steering pump there was  2 bolts holding  the tensioner in and if u get a screw driver in there and push on it   it might wiggle a little bit now i did notice that the old one looked like it got melted or something melted on it so get a flash light in there and see
