Charging batteries to run home LED's? What kind of output did you get? If
it were in a public place, could people charge their cell-phones, pads &
laptops? How many man-hours did it take to construct & assemble? Thanks for
posting and congratulations... um, so you used Inventor to model the
structure and create the paper templates? Did you run it through Stress
Analysis or anything like that?
Would orienting the blades horizontally allow for use of more bearings and
decrease the coefficient of friction, thus increasing output (and expense)?
The generator placement you chose makes it a rain-catcher in most climates?
On top and covered would probably extend its life?

Building community through Burning Man art | Maria Partridge | TEDxReno
This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Since 2007 Burning Man has partnered with the city of Reno to ...
With the idealistic descriptions of Burning Man by management at one end,
and the ever-increasing presence of law enforcement "on the playa" at the
other, and with the reports from ground level that aren't all inspiring, I
have come to see BM as the typical mix you get with an attendance of
65,000, regardless of the overall intended 'culture'.
Deaths and rapes, Burners hurling insults at each other for either "not
participating" or being self-appointed "participation cops" bitter that
their poor choices for audience participation (such as random spanking) are
rebuffed, and of course, Burning Man's unprecedented disclaimer, printed
right on every ticket, that you may die there, and if you do, it's not
their fault. There are weekenders that drink and ogle ; there are
"shirtcocks" that drink and ogle and there are camps that don't practice
"free gifting" unless you are on a certain list of names. A God's-eye view
would reveal nothing new with all that.
So, as with all Ages Of Aquarius dawning on the horizon, we need to take
the bad with the good, and enjoy the art for art's sake - from a distance,
if necessary.
