Honda RC212V gearbox VS Yamaha M1 gearbox
A Honda gyorsváltója összevetve a Yamaha hagyományos váltójával. The Honda Seamless gearbox compare to Yamaha conventional gearbox.
the shifting seems the same except the honda has some more acceleration and
perhaps because of that you would think the shifting is faster on the
honda. it's not. The latency gap between gear shifts is the same. listen
closely.
How boring is that vw? All the soul and spirit of the Honda is gone now
with emission regs, also who on earth wants dsg? Where has driving skill
gone. Boring boring vw
Anyways, drag racing with a rolling start doesn't need any good driving skills. It's hard for Honda owners watch an automatic beating a super fast Honda Civic, lol.

Honda Nighthawk 700s transmission: How It Works, shift drum
How a motorcycle shift drum works: The shift drum controls three shift forks by a stub that rides in a slot. The slot moves the fork which moves a slider gear.
whats it cost to replace a deal like that? im looking at an 85 nighthawk
that needs a new starter and has a fracture in the shift drum.hes wanting
800 for the bike.think its worth it?
Weber State University (WSU) - Automotive Technology Department - Transmission Lab. You asked for it, here it is! This episode covers the Ford DPS6 ...
I researched these transmissions when I was looking to buy a 2015 Focus. I
wasn't willing to gamble on one so I got a 5 speed manual instead. Much
better transmission in my opinion.
Nice explanation!
But you could have made it easier for yourself (and maybe the viewers), if
you had marked the "gear shift rotors" (or whatever they are called) with
the position they need to be for the different gears. Put an arrow on the
table, and digits on the rotor. R/2/4/6 on left one, and 1/3/5 on right
one.
That would also show that not all neutrals are the same. So maybe the full sequence with R/N1/2/N3/4/N5/6/X on the left, and NR/1/N2/3/N4/5/N6/X on the right. Where N<gear> is the only neutral that is used while the other rotor has selected <gear>. X is a position that never would be used, and N6 would only be used if there is some fuel savings reason to put the "other gearbox" in neutral while driving for long times on 6th gear.Btw, do you know if that's how it's done? Is there always a preselected gear, or do the gearbox switch to a neutral in the other gearbox if you stay in the same gear for a long time.
Hyundai Verna Auto vs Skoda Rapid Auto vs VW Vento Auto | Motor Octane | Latest Car Reviews
On this episode of Motor Octane we compare the automatic variants of three cars that occupy prime spot on the Indian midsize sedan market. Read our story: ...
Horrible language...When considering the automatic, no doubt, the Rapid and
and the Vento are the best..Does the 4 speed hyundai torque converter match
with the 7 speed German DSG ?? Lol...Korean looks and features vs German
Engineering....
U forgot to mention that Rapid has cruise control despite being an
automatic... Considering the price... Thats a very good option. I've driven
the Verna Auto and Rapid Auto aswell. VERNA's gearbox is no Where close to
the DSG of Germans.
speak either Hindi or English not both, its annoying to hear Hinglish!
I agree with the verdict though, if it want for Skodas poor after sales,
the Rapid is easily best car money can buy in India
With the introduction of an automatic gearbox and a new option package, the Skoda Rapid is back with a bang. We were in Goa to find out what it's all about ...
+Ranjeev Joseph : who ripped who? "man do your research. Only after volkswagen bought skoda they made fuel efficienct cars with good stability.....drive vento and then rapid u will felel the difference
+bannajirocks One of my friend owns Skoda's SUV , the Yeti. Just within a year ( I don't know how many kms) something went wrong with the car. It just wouldn't start. When he took the car to the service center, he was told that because of the adulterated fuel the engine has been severely damaged (so the warranty was void) and the fuel pump, fuel injector along with the engine needs to be replaced and he was told that it would cost a whooping Rs.6 lakh. He is very particular while choosing a fuel station to refuel his car. There are millions of diesel cars on Indian roads and this is the first time that I have heard a car getting so severely damaged because of adulterated fuel. Skoda is certainly taking him for a ride. That is the reason why anyone would stick to brands like Honda or Hyundai.
+trippinghard Not all of us fall in love with the same person, in the same way not all of us may love the same car. i test drove all these cars, before I decided to buy the City. Also, I feel Honda City offers more features than these cars. Anyway, its your opinion though.
+TheHandsome Jack I have driven Rapid a lot, and I think it is a great driver's car. iVtec is great, but I don't like Honda's neutral driving manners and ride. If you think iVtec is good, you should test-drive Linea TJET. It is the best petrol offering of the segment overall in my book. Brilliant ride, handling, and breaking, packed with features including cruise control, ambient lighting etc. Steering might be a tad too heavy for cities, but excellent for highways.
+trippinghard Vento and Rapid may not be as fun to drive as you might think. If you ever get a chance to test drive them, you will learn that the handling is not really as you would expect from European cars. The punch that you get from the iVtec engine is solely missed in these cars. They both are nice cars in their own right, but if you passionate about driving, Honda City is the best one for you at the price point.
+TheHandsome Jack I think by driver's car, you are talking about engine refinement. That is a wrong way to look at things. Anyway, here is my experience. Linea TJet, which is also the only Turbo petrol here, is the most exciting petrol car of the segment in terms of driving dynamics and engine refinement. iVtec is a close second. But when it comes to diesel offerings, Rapid and Vento are miles ahead. Dynamics may not be as good as Linea, but still far ahead of Verna and City. But its exciting 1.5 L diesel engine more than makes up for it. Add to that, the excellent build quality all around.
+trippinghard Honda City is the truly drivers car in its price range. The iVtec motor is really fun to drive. Rapid and Vento are for the ones who prefer a luxurious feeling cabin over driving pleasure. Hyundai's cars are an all rounder package, but not for driving pleasure.
i test drove rapid and did not find much difference in driving dynamics as such.. certainly steering is heavier as compared to verna or city and can be little bit more confidence booster on highways but pain to drive in city traffic. so many important features are missing in these cars. and the cabin looks so archaic.. and not to mention these cars like rapid and vento looks very dull and small in size. but looks are subjective i guess
+bannajirocksWell with Honda and Hyundai comes with peace of mind which over 40+ looks for. Skoda and Vento are good driver oriented cars but miss out due to-
- Average to bad after sales service- Costly maintenance- Engine is though responsive in not that refined in terms of NVH- Rear hump and inner space is less as compared to CityDrive them back to back and you will love the well planted and solid drive of Vento/Rapid. Ask your wife to choose and she will say Honda or may be Verna. Verna provides all the creature comforts minus the handling you can think off. City provides a D segment space with excellent mileage and its decent in all departments- A family man's car.Again drive them back to back for good 10 km and feel the difference.
+bannajirocks Well.. If you go by the sales numbers, then Alto and Wagon R should be India's best cars, right? Of course I agree that Vento/Rapid/Linea's sales and service is pretty average and that has a direct effect on sales in India. But when you compare cars in isolation, Verna especially and City to an extent are the worst in the segment. Now about Skoda being a flop in Europe. That's simply an outrigt lie. Skoda, even after being a small part of VW group, has been steadily increasing its market share in Europe from 2010, now at 4.1%. Skoda made robust gains in 2012-2013 period even when VW group as a whole was performing badly. VW group still owns 25% of European market. On the other hand, the mighty Honda, even with its low market penetration, had negative growth in 2012-2013 period. Its market share in Europe stands at 1.1%. Hyundai's share also sharnk by 2.7%, now at 3.4%. So please don't BS.
+bannajirocks European cars are very costly to maintain. Secondly we care more about looks, price and features than security, built quality and handling.
+trippinghard well.. i suppose most of people in India would disagree with you.. i can say that based on the number of city/verna sold per month vis a vis vento/rapid. i think you have seen a lot too many videos of car enthusiasts on youtube and made a opinion. Skoda cars like rapid are flop even in Europe now where people choose honda/ford over them.
Um What? Both the Vento and the Rapid offer the best ride and handling , easily the best performance in the segment , you can argue that the Verna is more powerful but in spite of more bhp and slightly more torque (on paper) , it's in gear acceleration is weak , weaker than the underpowered Honda City . The build quality of the VW and Skoda on the inside is top notch and the cars are solid on the outside with only the Linea(in this segment) matching the quality ( but unfortunately let down by the engine) . The only thing against the VW and Skoda are probably the styling which apparently is bland according to most people ( I think it's pretty sharp , looks are opinionated anyway) . So why wouldn't you purchase them?
Better driveability, handling, ride and transmission perhaps? Verna is a boat, not a car. It has the worst dynamics of the segment. And the "new" City looks hideous and over-cooked, and has poorly refined engine with terrible NVH levels when compared to competition. And it is priced so high as well. So the real question is, why would anyone purchase a Verna or City over a Rapid, Vento or Linea (TJet)?
