I think the robot is to be commended for holding the camera that steady
(and the photo stitching software I suppose). The clouds are nasty (when
zooming out you can see many seams in the sky and those aren't artifacts
from zooming in to a larger level of detail than is in memory) but the
cityscapes are very well blended. From an artistic point of view, it leaves
something to be desired, but to hell with art when you can learn so much
about a place.
What? Are you seeing the same pano that I'm seeing? (I'm on the actual
site, zooming in and out of the photo.) Workers on the rooftops, people
hanging out of hotel windows, people walking along and under the bridges
and on the streets, lots of stuff going on! Very cool. Yes, I'd like to see
this technique applied to other locales, but this thing is fascinating as
it is.
Isn't Google Earth or some other geographic imaging a larger image? Maybe
this is the largest publicly known image - if you look at high resolution
imaging for large areas there might be a secret military satellite image
that exceeds this. But, we would never know. Contratulations to this team
on their World Record!
Best picture of the internet. 2 people are repeated. appear in 2 photos.
see the MON GEN POST flags. There appear to be 6 people. The lady in high
heels and the blond man. the other 2 were behind the pole 0% First pic, 3
people Second 2 pic repeat and a new man shows maybe was behind the pole in
the first pic.
there are no cars and people, couse it takes so long to take the picture
and the cars and people and other moving objects are moving too fast to be
visible on the finale picture
