Thanks for this video! My fan speed "2" quit working: terrible. I got the
part for ~$16 and replaced it, all is good now.
Getting the plug out was hard. I found it easier to unscrew the resistor
panel first, then use a screwdriver to pry the plug out.
Great video! After watching this I had the part swapped out in less than 15
minutes. If you've got a "stubby" screwdriver it makes the process easier.
The fan in my 2000 Honda Accord works intermittently. Once it comes on it
stays on and it works at all different speeds. If it won't come on with
the control knob, if I reach under and give it a whack near the
motor/resistor area with my hand, I can get it to go again. Would this
indicate a different problem than the resistor? Any specific suggestions of
what to try if it is not indicative of a resistor problem?
Thank you for watching. Its possible the connector has shorted out or the motor itself failed. You can visually check the connector, if it is shorted you will be able to see. Please let us know how the repair comes out!1aauto.com 888-844-3393
my chevy venture sometimes ac or heater wilnot work intill I hit a hole or
a bump in the road what do I need to replace its the fan that's not working
right please help
+briansmobile1 thanks for your coments.but I already took my car a mechanic and it was a false contact with some of the wires on the harness it was a false contact on the ground and one on the highest speed on the blower switch thanks everyone for the advice cheers. ..
+Jeff Galford You made no mention of what setting the fan is on or of whether that makes a difference. If it doesn't, I'd tend to think it's the blower motor then.
Thanks a lot for the video! I spent 35 minutes wrestling with that stupid
clip trying to unplug the old resistor, then found your video that showed
me exactly how to do it. I appreciate the help, and also appreciate the
rant...!! Thanks again.
Wow! There's over 700 of them. Thanks for your support. As long as people like them enough to watch them, I'll keep making them. Today I'm filming a G. Cherokee heater core job. I had to remove the dash/steering wheel/ and the whole HVAC box too. I narrated how the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning system works as part of it. It's easy to demonstrate when the whole thing is on the floor.

If you are looking for brand new, may want to check with your local dealership. Some autoparts stores will have an off brand set. Otherwise, may be best to locate a salvage yard near you like I did. Good luck!
+SixLovetennis Yes, the car's front end was on jack stands to access the attachment points on the transmission. You can also take off the front driver tire and the splash guard to access the points too. As long as you have a standard socket set, couple pairs of pliers, vice grip, and various screw drivers, you should be set to tackle this task. Good Luck!
+CoachV Tennis Academy In this video probably about 2 hours. I'm includeing time to set up shots and explain what I'm doing. The second time I performed this task to replace the cables used in this video, it was about 45 minutes.
Have a 2004 Vue 5 speed
replaced the shifter bushing on the shifter
recently shifting has become spongy (does not shift into gear easily)
if cables don't show any sign of fraying or wear should I just try the
bushing on the cable end from the cab first?
What are your thoughts?
Thanks
Joe
+Joseph St. Paul It could be the end-links or possibly the trans fluid, but haven't read too much into the Vue issues. I apologize, but I would recommend if you are not part of the SaturnFans forum to head over and find the Vue section. There is a wealth of information there that may answer your question. Good Luck!
Hi i like your vids and its very informative.... but i have a question, i
brought my car to the repair shop the other day, they told me that my shift
cable are busted and needed to replace. Im pretty sure that they mess
things up when they replace clutch kit two weeks ago.
my question is when you change something inside the transmission like
clutch kit, can you replace it without removing the shift cable?
also, Im just wondering what is the percentage of the wear and tear of the
shift cable? let say do you replace it every year or two or is there
certain kilometer needed to follow before you change it? cuz we have other
cars that more than 14years but we never had experience changing shift
cable.
thanks for the reply in advance.
The cables will need to be unhooked from the transmission, but can be left attached to the shift tower in the console. They would have needed to remove the transmission to get to the clutch and flywheel. The shift cable has no recommended replacement interval. Its basically down to: "when it breaks it breaks".That's what happened to me and the need to make this video. Another normal day driving home from work, until I needed to flip to reverse, then pop, and I had a limp shifter.
Was it getting harder to shift? I think I have the same problem and I'm
getting ready to replace the cables on my 98 sc2 before it breaks. There's
no way the synchronizers are bad in so many gears all the sudden just slow
gets harder to shift in 1st,2nd,4th and reverse.
The set I installed in this video were replaced again after it became nearly impossible to shift between 1st & 2nd. The reason I was replacing them in this video was from them snapping at the crimp.
