@IrishStar Dude. GSR or RS was Manual 5 speed and MR had 6 speed in the
VIII and IX. The MR X came with the SST which is an automanual
transmission. I know since I have a 2010 MR. I did my research. You may be
confused since It sounds you are not from the states. In the States, the MR
only came with the SST automanual transmission starting the EVO X. Again, I
have 2010 MR, there is no clutch pedal. It is paddle shift, or completely
automatic.
i have doughts that this EVO engine is for real, cause i saw a video this
EVO MR doing 120km in six gear and the engine rpm was 3000, while my 1600cc
engine car autogear does the same 120km in 4th gear with 3000 rpm, even if
the six gear ratio of the evo and my 4th gear are the same, still the
engines are not the same, the evo is 2000cc and turbocharged, mine is 1600cc
normal.wtf is going on.
@mpgomatic i had this car and i had been totaled by a drunken guy. the
traffic light was green and then he was speeding and hit my car from the
passenger side along with my engine :( i was bleeding like hell and broke
my arm. and now i have 1 ball left to live.. i have the exact same color
and everything and now it's wrecked!
@skyline9878 Probably mate, My appologies if thats what you meant, Im here
in ireland and I would say that we are talking about 2 different models
then, as I know for Fact, the Evo X was only released here in europe with
the SST Transmission, which as you know is automatic. So appologies if we
got our wires crossed!
GSR aka the legendary evo is lighter and much faster than MR and that's
because it doesn't have the tech package and also you can get the 6speed
m/t; however MR has the tech package like stereo system, navigation and
etc...but it loses the big spoiler on the back and the only transmission on
MR is 6speed auto...
@superjervis they also added struts and springs.. mr nowadays is just like
getting more luxury options with a few performance enhancements. even the
sti spec r (compared to a normal sti) comes with a sunroof, leather trim,
sat nav and 10 speakers but doesn't come with any performance parts.
Double clutching (as referenced in fast and furious movies) is pointless on
modern transmissions because the greats are synchronized. It is even more
pointless to fault someone for driving the evo with an sst, it has already
proven to be an advantage on a track with actual turns...
The 2013 fully loaded Evo is $46,950. The more powerful and capable 2013
Audi S4 starts at $47,600. Or you could even get a base 2013 BMW 335i for
$42,800 with more power and style. Seems like too much money for that rat
shit interior and tin can eco-box construction.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution - - - - - - - - - - Your Either In
It........ Or Behind It!! Thank God Mitsubishi Finally made tthe Evo X with
a Manual GearBox.... The way God intended! lol...... GOd Bless you MiVEC ;-)
@mpgomatic i had the same car, i bought it yesterday and it was great!!!
while i was going back home, a non-licensed kid crashed my car at 97 mph, i
didnt believe tht i survived this but my car is totally destroyed :'(
Double clutch a DSG, it has no clutch. It has a pseudo launch control, but
you should not use an MR for drag racing, you need a GSR model for that,
but the MR will kick the GSR ass in any other race type.
@xxxn7zxxx Sorry to hear about the wreck, that's a bummer. I hope he had
insurance and can cover your loss. Drunks just need to man up and hand the
keys over. Cars can be replaced, lives and limbs can't.
I love how purpose built this car is, no "Adjusting seats, comfort mode,
econ mode..." or any of the crap you see today. Not saying adjustable seats
are bad, but this is definitely the purist approach.
@mpgomatic Thanks! I actually got the SE version, not the MR, but they're
not far off. I do watch my foot though...can't be wasting the gas all the
time when it's over $4.50/gallon.
Just got one of these, but didn't buy it thinking I was getting some sort
of fuel efficient sedan lol. Absolutely love the car! (it's my first car
that I've owned!)
Why do people ask questions about these cars on a video when you will have
a bunch of misinformed posters reply. How about you use edmunds or hell
even google.
Seeing as double clutching would not only be pointless, but impossible in
this car. Also, try broadening your scope of movies beyond the 1st Fast &
Furious...
@xxxn7zxxx Yeah these new lancer are pretty good. I know three people in
RAs that totalled them...one in a crazy 5 car pile up and they all could
walk away.
'mr' stands for 'mitsubishi racing' so then why did they put a 9 speaker
system, that therefore adds weight and defeats the whole purpose of the 'mr'
badge.
I just drove a Evo MR and damn it's quick from a stop. Torque comes fast on
this car. Doesn't seem it has great top end speed but from a dig it's
awesome.
I know, i'd have thought they would have a eco mode where it was computer
tuned for less power but more economy, and then the option to get full
power.
