If you mean inconsistencies with RPM that I've experienced for a long time, part of it was cheap bushings in the variator. Part of it I'm still uncertain of, as I've had a tough time keeping performance to stay the same.
The 4 strokes can be very fuel efficient and quiet and may outlast the 2 strokes before anything beyond routine maintenance is needed. The main thing I like about the 2T is power output. Stock 4T tend to go low to mid 30MPH range. Stock 2T is usually more like 35-40MPH. When you start modding, the 2T still has way more potential. Depends what you want.
+90GTVert thanks for answer! i´m in doubt, i ask in the market in my city (uruguay) and people , some friends around there ,and every one says me that the 2 stroke engine use more fuel and oil, and gonna live less than the 4 stroke .. sorry if im doing noob question, never got a bike before, i wanna has a small scooter as your taotao
+Airswag Thom I've got a few and a stroker crank and big valve heads and so on sitting 2ft from the scooter. lol Really I need to get the 2T back up and running. It's in the works and the TaoTao will get a big bore sooner or later.
82.5 average. Close enough. Never really thought about it, but it could go her to California... coast to coast... on under $100 in fuel in theory. In practice I think it would break down multiple times or at least get flats and the repairs would cost more than the fuel.
+90GTVert thanks, that's some great info. and you got 90mpg?think about it, if you put a luggage rack on the back, you could strap a 10 gallon fuel can to that and ride for 1,000 miles straight. that would have to be some kind of record.
A lot. I didn't stop to eat or drink. I stopped for fuel/pit stops a few times and I stopped to take pics in a few spots. Otherwise I was riding. Average cruise speed was 30MPH. Then take stop signs and red lights and such into account and real average is somewhere in the 20s. 200mi/25MPH = 8 hours, so I'm certain at least 8 hours of actual riding and I'd lean toward more than that. The GPS would tell me, but I didn't have it on me.
