Sony DVP-FX820 as an external video monitor
Using the Sony DVP-FX820 DVD portable player as an external video monitor player for my HV20 camcorder. Works wonders, and it's especially useful if you ...
you just made my day. I've spent the whole day trying to convert my DVD
player into a monitor for my cam. But there's no male to male mini AV cable
and if such thing exists then I can't find it anywhere. But by seeing your
video I realized I did have that adapter, it just never crossed my mind to
use it. IT WORKED!!!! and the DVD player only costs me $50 bucks at a pawn
shop.
I tried this exact same thing, I bought the 'Triple Phono Plug Coupler' and
I couldnt figure out what to do from there, I have the cords hooked up on
both ends (the camera and dvd player) but I dont know what to press on the
dvd player to show the video from the camera
This setup donned on me, too! But I haven't looked at the port requirements
on mine yet. Is that an RCA to miniplug adapter? Yes, this wold be great
for clearer viewing of DOF, the LCDs just can't quite express it, even with
the focus assistant.
That's 800x480 right? Not 720p. But you're right about using it for 35mm,
just flip the monitor. I use a Philips DCP850 that can playback iPod video
dock for playback. Enjoy the Hv20.
Thanks for a good post! Any new updates you may know about affordable GREAT
deals on LCD Monitors? I'm using a Canon XL2 and plan on sending up on a
boom ride soon. Thanks again! Sid
