If the charging port at the bottom the note is damage, will the battery still charge on the wireless dock? I looking for a battery charger until I'm eligible for a upgrade on my phone. Is it cheaper just to get the charging port fixed?

Is it safe? Any possibility of over charging? I don't want to leave the house and come back to ashes. Ebay has them but most of them are from china. I have purchased some things from china and they are very cheaply made.
