@ipodappsworld yes i did but due to the kit lens not being a macro, i had set the camera about a foot or two away from the product.

Just got off the phone with Motorola, and the lady said there is no case that will fit, even though in the direction it says if you have a protective case not to install the insert. I also asked if they knew when they would release a case for it and she was unable to find out. so its either use the mount and not have a case on the phone of get a universal car mount and get a case for the phone. you think they would have been on top of this situation.

I have all the current verizon cases and none fit with the dock at all. Even with the adaptor removed the corners are still too big. I hope motorola releases a proper case or someone invents a DroidX adaptor that can overlap the current car and multimedia hdmi dock.

@quadcamera could you explain in more detail what you needed to do to get the Verizon cas/holster combo to work? I'm looking into doing this myself, and would appreciate any advice :) And in the end, did you get a good fit with the holster case?

With some easy modding to the dock, I was able to get the Rocketfish case to work with the dock.....and also, I was able to get the Verizon case/holster combo to work too. The verizon one took a bit more modding though.
