Another simple way of avoiding the vending machines is by not carrying
around change. It's the same concept as if it's not in the house you can't
eat it. So if you don't buy it your cant eat it. To combat the leftovers
problem, I suggest sugar free mint gum. Everytime you have an urge to eat,
and you know you shouldn't, start chewing gum. Mint gun normally won't mix
well with food haha.
to the guy that can't afford supplements: i was in the same situation as a
kid! creatine is a great supplement! keep using that! Also when your family
makes dinner look carefully at what is being served, do you see some
protiens (meats and beans)? maybe some carbs, pasta, rice, etc? maybe some
vegetables? take a little bit extra proteins and take a lot of veggies too.
Adjust just the carbohydrates according to your goals... wanna gain weight?
eat more carbs... wanna lose? take less. dont forget that your body needs
carbs though NEVER go zero carbs.
Also, most families regardless of wealth will at least have coffee in their
house. If you need a "pre-workout" boost try drinking a cup or two of
coffee (depending on your own tolerance) before your workout and see how
you feel. If you feel energized then great! if you feel uncomfortable and
your heart is racing maybe don't drink the coffee.
Hope this helps bro!
Isn't it also true that doing certain types of cardio, e.g. HIIT cardio
could interfere with your training as it may impact recovery which would
slow down progress (on certain lifts)? For example doing short sprints may
affect recovery on your squats etc..? Great video Lee thanks!
I have heard that doing HIIT Cardio may well be better for building Muscle than Weights , lol , most Sprinters certainly have big legs , i would think though , that they combine weights with HITT , at the end of the day your using the same Muscle fibers in both methods , so doing a HIIT workout too close to a Weight session will affect it and visa versa .
I like a good mix of cardio and resistance...eventually you find how much
of each is good for for yourself. If you train regularly and experiment a
bit you will find your place. Eat some protein for breakfast...Eggs are
cheap. Too many people eat a donut or two and coffee.
Lee, I agree that genetics play a huge role but you need to remember that
Lance Armstrong was on a specific training program. Same thing with Phil
Heath - what you see in both cases is organism adaptation to different
workout stimulus. If Heath would start training like Lance he would lose
his muscle mass cause its a different type of a workout stimulus - more
endurance. Same thing applies to Lance - if he would started training
weights his body composition would change which wouldn't help him in his
endurance sessions.
I think its a misconception.
Lance Armstrong same as Phil Heath work really hard to got to their level in their sport disciplines...You can't build huge muscles bicycling and riding couple hundred km per day (compare sprinter and long distance runner - their physiques are different cause of adaptation to training routines). Same thing with Phil Heath - he is not able to get to Lance Armstrong level without losing his mass. Phil was first a BBall player - he decided to go with bb instead of playing ball. His body adapted to resistance he puts em through. Hope you understand my point here.
+Lukasz Rytkowski You are absolutely right in that one can focus primarily on mass building or endurance training. But I don't believe that Lance Armstrong has the genetic potential to win a Mr. Olympia. Or Phil Heath the genetic potential to win a Tour de France. Their God given genetics still dictate what type of physique they can build.
Good video Lee. Would ever be possible to make q and a's longer? I
understand ten minutes is long, but for q and a's I would personally like a
25 minute or so video if possible. I know probably a lot of people don't
feel this way, but just a thought anyways. Keep it up!
