this is isn't the only problem with cannot find symbol, my get method p.getId () for example still cant find symbol 

Source SDK cannot find the file specified error -HyperCam2

@seanthamaster the only thing i could think of is that there might be a certain brush or entity that just won't allow it to load. I'd try making a very basic map with walls, lights, and some T's and CT's (and player spawn point) and see if that will load. If not i'd suggest reinstalling SDK. If that doesn't work then im sorry... and Steam really should have created an update by now cause this has been going on for over two years.

@dogfirezp I'm having the same problem as that guy. I did what you said but no matter how many times i try it it ISN'T giving me a bsp file. I've checked my maps for errors, leaks, everything is fine. Except this stupidass error message i keep getting. I havn't had this problem in all the years i've been a map maker until now...

@dogfirezp It's a displacement in my map. I've tried deleting the displacements (4 total) but it still does it. I wouldn't remake the map cause i need it for a movie. It's so frustrating though :l in the map my 4 displacements are supposed to be mounds of snow, one of them doesn't have "four corners" which is strange.

Sorry for the very late response. ummm... no i dont have much of a clue. You should first go to map-->check for errors to see if its something simple. Otherwise, i have no clue. sorry.

i did exactly what you said but it still doesnt ass a bsp it runs the black cmd screen then has red writing at the bottom instead of yellow like yours, any suggestions????
