I dropped my iPhone 3Gs in to the sink once and that died within 10 minutes :( The key to having a water proof phone is to seal off every possible gap. The 104SH does this with rubber seals on the inside of the case plus all mics and speakers have a filter over them. then the whole phone is sprayed in that nano coating that repels water. It truly is water proof.

I'll keep this phone if my next model isn't waterproof because this takes excelent HD video. Better than my 5 year old panasonic HD video camera. The ausio isn't as good though.

Technically, all phones work underwater. The trick is, the phone has to be absolutely free of crud, and the water has to be absolutely pure.

Indeed. This phone will work under any type of water or beer or we'll any liquid that say a water proof watch would work under.

Works under pure water is not the same as being waterproof.

why not keep a few flip phones in the market for folks who prefer the simplicity of an easy to use cell phone than the newer android, touchscreen smartphones that most consumers prefer these days?

I read this article last week on yahoo. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/flip-phones-are-making-a-comeback-in-japan-at-111277197229.html I watched an interview with one guy who said that he preferred fujitsu flip phones because of the better security and ability to hide text messages and other things from girlfriends. Apparently, flip phones are better at helping people cheat on their wives/girlfriends than smart phones.
