I almost bought this tab, but then i tried a asus..., actually using it wheile im doing poop right now , usb port is used for flash drives keyboard, etc, i chose to get the asus since i liked it alot better, and ilkke the home buttons on the asus more... just fyi before buyjng , there is known issue with wifi on a500. Which will randomly disconnect/connect, dunno if fixed but can be a issue downthe road for some. But nonethe less theres better deals for this tab then asus, have fun

@FringeDivisionNY Yes, you will be able to do work. It will take getting used to, however android tablets in general are very good about supporting formats. Your Itunes AAC files will play on this tablet no problem. The only hiccup is that you cannot sync this device with the actual itunes software. You must actually drag and drop your music directly from the file home into the device's music folder.

@ExclusiveBrad plus a phone has a useful extra feature: a phone! Tabs should be equipped with 3G so you can use it anywhere. Wifi is faster but I hate having to be searching, yarrr, for a Wifi connection! And me thinks a dock is a very useful extra, more power, less fingerprints and you won't have to lay your tab flat on a table but have it standing upright for a better view.

@BainanuIon Shit. My phone has a qwerty keyboard. But when am I going to write an essay on the go? I wont draft on the go either, nor illustrate, nor watch movies, nor read books. My phone can have a total of 8GB of local storage, and up to 32 on a micro SD card. Not to mention my phone can run any Android program the tablet can run.

@ExclusiveBrad I'm getting at the fact that tablets are not meant to replace phones. They are an alternative to laptops and netbooks. They have for more uses than smart phones. They are realistic and convenient. Thats why the market for them is so large. Would you prefer to play minecraft on your cell phone or a tablet? ;)

@ExclusiveBrad And i can write an essay and take notes on my cell phone because i'm a student, draft on it because i'm an engineer, illustrate it because i'm an illustrator, watch movies on that amazing screen, read books on it and store up to 250 gb onto the local storage drive. Such a convenient little phone.

@TheQc72 Well this sounds silly but. I put 80 dollars down to take the tablet home. Which is not bad.. but since they let you do that, it ends up costing more.. but in return you can have it while still paying it. It's like a rent to own program.

@BainanuIon Well, I can't stick a tablet in my pocket, and I don't carry around bags. My phone doesn't have the processing power (tbh the tablet doesn't either), or the graphics capabilities. So I choose to not play minecraft in that situation.

Not at all........ I just got this phone..... Spent 2 weeks..... Totally awesome phone. All hd games are available, and it's the beast of multitasking! The screen (Super Clear LCD) has decent black, full 180 degree viewing angle (at about 35% brightness) and has got awesome sunlight visibility! I just installed a decent scratch protector and the screen hasn't even got a scratch! (Currently finished Asphalt 6, 921 points in Fruit Ninja THD Arcade, and playing the newly released Temple Run Game)

Both Samsung Galaxy R & Lg Optimus 2x is now available for 20k so many people are confused over which one to pick? Personally I'd pick Lg O2X coz it has a better 8MP Camera & Records Video @ 1080p. Also, Lg O2X has Micro HDMI port which is missing in SGR & the IPS Display of O2X is very bright & Vivid compared to the pale looking SLCD of SGR. I'd urge iGyaan to update their O2X phone with official GB & upload a comparison video between SGR & O2X so that visitors will be able make right choice.

This Phone isn't worth. iGyan must do his homework before saying a word in review video. Even though the Cyanogenmod mod are officially with samsung, there's no CUSTOM ROM support for this rom, not even support from communities other than CM. Ob the other hand LG O2X has everything better than this phone. Also O2X has alot of custom rom support all over. Screw the 1gb ram, it's just pointless and a gimmick for a smart phone market.

@Rockeymaru Galaxy S Plus is good phone, Galaxy R would do no better.Overall performance of both the devices is the same.Galaxy R would only play 1080p videos in 3gp format,it wouldnt play Mp4 1080p videos.And besides after using the SuperAMOLED screen of the galaxy s plus, you wouldnt wanna use the SuperClear LCD display.Overall i would say to go for the s2 or stick the galaxy S plus

So wt I'm sayin is that LCDs drain constant power from the battery, nd AMOLEDs drain less power when displaying blacks nd 3 times the power when displaying whites. So basically, it all depends on hw you use ur phone. As for durability, LCD displays have more life. However, the next generation of AMOLED displays will be better than anything we have seen.

OH ! no the build is soooo poor I was very confident about Scratch resistant cover of Samsung but it failed why cant samsung place a Gorilla glass instead of this crappy stuff ? ? Gorilla glass is jus toooooooo tough ! I didnt have a scratch on My GS1 even with drops and intended wipes with razors this is soooooo poor

@samjack16 The battery back up of R is better than S2 because of its low specifications and 1650 MAH battery.S2 has 8 mp, 1.2 GZ processor and other high quality features which needs a lot of power.If u r not concerned about the battery then S2 is THE BEST phone that u can get (Even better than Iphone 4 and 4S).

@DGguitarist : Thats cz the rest of it (about 250mb) is used by the OS.. So only 724mb is available for running applications.. But that wont cause any lag, its sufficient.

Nice preview Sascha, as always! It would be nice to test all of these new tablets at IFA 2010 in action for most common user functions as web browser, including adobe flash videos from youtube, google maps navigation, skype video calls if supported and as well as a e-book reader, movie player, jpeg photo viewer (by simple SD card (USB stick) with several files - pdf, doc, jpeg photos and videos like HD 1080p m2ts files from your video camera or other movie sources like mkv, mpeg, mp4).

I have got my hands on one of thease and all I can say is STAY AWAY!!!. No1 You cant plug it into your pc with the supposed USB to trans pics music etc. No2 You cant watch ANY flash vids (as of yet) No3 You can "use external usb drives" Bull Sh** and to be honest I feel fecking cheated out of £329!!! EPIC FAIL!, Dam I wish Id gone for the iPad!, If all of the above was fixed it would be a dam good bit of kit, but its been released half arsed =(

@guartrapa that MIGHT be true, but guess what we aren't in the future so we must use flash for present, we've been so evolved around flash that it isn't easy to just say "fuck it lets move to html5" (Apple), they should offer BOTH flash and html5 in the present time(iPad) and we the users will decide what moves to future, we can't be jumping to the future without living the present (tablet with flash [Apple])

@MrSrgtSausage no tegra 2 tablets can use the video calling feature of the standard skype client, due to technical limitations of the chip itself and of honeycomb. as far as "using the standard skype client" he was referring to the laptop running it, not the tablet...
