do you know if the same parts will work to repair a broken LCD. The screen isnt cracked, just the LCD is.

Go to the toshiba thrive forums and under the hacks nad mods section then download and install the newest version of CWM if you have the v6 with touch then make sure you scroll down. Also are you for sure Rooted?

Ok ive been jumping around on your threads and downloading everything but i cannnot get clockworkmod to install, i just need my damn wifi to work lol. i keep getting the signature veri failed. i did the root to get clockworkmod, it says it worked but its not there. Help please! im not sure what im doing wrong. Ive done this on other tablets. Any advise or can you send me the correct link siince i think ive been on every thread and i must be over looking something. Thanks!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that's fine. But how can you state HTC is a liar? They never lied, they're unlocking bootloaders, as they stated. I'm not seeing the lie. Sure, it's taking them a bit. But that will be the safest way of unlocking your device. Reason they have to record this, is because so many people sent brick'd phones to HTC after they screwed it up by rooting. Their covering themselves. Business101. IDK why you're crying if you can get it currently rooted anyway..

@azrienoch I'm not saying that they didn't lie to people, they did lie about unlocking bootloaders. If this was their intention they should have announced a web service to request a developer unlock for your device...but it seems like it was more of a last minute "oh crap" from the legal team thinking that saying they will be shipping phones with unlocked bootloaders after locking them might cause some issues for the warranty department when people start sending back bricked phones

If someone from HTC actually reads these comments: Yepp, his explanation actually nails it. I don´t get it. You take something which we devs and hacker love which was supposed to be accessible to us, but then lock it away. This however, doesn't make sense, unless you have a reason for... like...having a special deal with carriers or ex-carriers. Oh, and is it me or did Bob´s brest got bigger oö maybe its just too late and my brains has a malfunction, but well, whatever ;P

I don't think HTC is wanting to keep your information on file for if you do something illegal as much as they want to understand that you are voiding your warranty by unlocking the bootloader and gaining root access to your device

Greetings, to get into ClockworkMod Recovery (assuming you flashed it!). Go into the bootloader mode (volume up + powerbutton, I demonstrate in the video), and choose the middle icon, that looks like an Android with an open box. select it with the power button. That should take you into a "CWM-based Recovery" by DJ Steve. if you are not showing that, you still have the Toshiba Stock Recovery (it will have fewer options)

Ok..same issue as uae0nexus as I select 032 and it stops at "waiting for device. However I have 3 options to select from 029, 032 and 032 OOM Optimized. Which do I select if the ending is only 032? I ran ADB in the tools folder and it quickly executes and disappears. After I selected debug usb, I am getting a MTP new hardware found. And there are no drivers for it to install device. Running XP

@uae0nexus when you reboot into the fastboot bootloader, you will see the "add new hardware" dialog box if you haven't done it before. You have to wait for the drivers to copy and install "fastboot drivers" before you can continue. I had to do it all over again when I plugged my thrive into a new USB port, and it had to install the drivers coming from that port.

Can someone heeeeelp me. I got the toshiba thrive from woot last month with the stock image that WILL NOT update as it stays on the android robot with the exclamation. I've been reading the forums but cannot seem to find the stock image to bring it to .0029 or .0032 the stock image I have is .0018 and want to reap the benefits of my tablet.Thanks in advance

Please Help. Im on 0032, rolled back to this from update. I was finally able to get adb to see device in fastboot via FASTBOOT REBOOT and ADB DEVICES...took all day ...and long story My problem is that I got into the Root .bat and I get the same screen as you, i press 1 and enter...nothing is happening. Cant go anywhere from this point. Please Help, Jen.

My thrive won't boot... i just stays on the toshiba logo and do nothing... remove the battery and restarted it, NO GO... tried use the stock toshiba recovery... NO GO... it only stay on the the options bet. recovery and the android logo... is there anything else that i can do? will this video help me fix it?

If you have been updated to the latest version using the Service Update, YOU CANNOT ROOT. If your Android Version is 3.2.1 and you've updated using Toshiba's update service, you cannot roll back. I am sorry, but Toshiba's updates canceled out our Fastboot access which allowed us root in the first place.

If you use a version other than the ones here, the modified boot image that flashes will break your wifi, it wont work. However, another way would be toflash the Clockworkmod Recovery using this tool, then to download and flash a Rom directly in the recovery.

for those who might still have issues. if you have updated to latest firmware, you no longer have fastboot access. There is a rollback to an earlier version if you wish to keep your root, but you are dependant on the developer community for updates.

@jesus0zero0 Hello, there is a method @ Thriveforums and Tabletroms in order to hack the latest update. Your update does not have the "fastboot" available. The hack puts fastboot back on it, then you can root and flash ROMs to your hearts desire.

everything worked for me EXCEPT clockwork mod recovery, when I run the installer it goes through the whole process, says congratulations you now have CM but it is not on the device, I verified root access in terminal but still no CM

There is no way to officially downgrade the 3.2 official update, but you CAN root the latest 3.2 update. Visit Thriveforums, the devs there HAVE found an exploit to put fastboot back on, and to root your Thrive.

@jhicks140506 if you are talking about the widget bar, no. It is a controller-widget pack called "Widgetsoid 2.x", and contains some of the largest number of controlling widgets I've seen, and its all free.

Forgot to continue my train of thought at the end of the video. You can reboot to Recovery by the same method used to enter fastboot, only choose the middle "Package" icon instead of the "USB" icon.

this method works on all "thrives" ? I've noticed some people's model's show AT100, and some are AT105 (i think it is, but whatever it's higher than 100).
