@stonecold1962 So far I like it. I've been leaning toward ROMs with Sense UI stuff stripped out because I prefer the cut down, raw Android format. aHero is a good ROM but sadly all the independent ones have their own problems like Bluetooth audio, camera zoom function, and others. Depending on your needs it might be a no go area but for me it's at least interesting. I gave up holding my breath for an official ROM update from HTC for the Hero; the date keeps getting pushed and pushed... :(

@stonecold1962 Thanks for confirming that. Yeah, it's a great shame. The Hero is a fantastic phone and if it wasn't for the "lock out" problem I'd not have a single complaint; technically I don't have a complaint about the phone, as the "lock out" appears to be a network issue rather than a handset issue. Fingers crossed though for a fix. Thanks again.

@stonecold1962 Sorry to hear of your frustrations. Just to confirm though, your signal does return eventually and you are not locked out of the network until you reboot the phone? Just want to check if it's a different issue to the one reportedly experienced by Meteor customers. Thanks for the comment BTW and fingers crossed your 3G signal improves.
