Ask to treat 'Hooding' on eyelid/over eyesI've had numerous chemical peels, & CO2 lasers performed over the last 2 decades. I had the stupid thought I could research YouTube, buy the various products off eBay and do a 50% TCA peel on myself. I had had two separate Phenol peels done in my 20's (by a Dr.) and ended up with beautiful porcelain virgin skin. I was not afraid of using the TCA acid on myself since phenol is a much much much stronger acid. The first mistake I made was thinking I could do it on myself. The deadly mistake was using too much TCA. I must have layered it, or perhaps the eBay product shipped was not pharmaceutical grade 50% TCA as stated. My skin frosted, I applied a good amount of neutralizer afterward. My face was red on the first and 2nd day. On the third day my face swelled up like a football, to the point my eyes were barely showing. The swelling finally started to disparate on day 6. My skin then shed over the next 12 days. The depth of the peel on my forehead ended up paralyzing all of the muscles & nerves (elated with this result since Botox does not work for me). My deep furrowed CREVICES (not simple wrinkles) between my eyes & on my forehead were COMPLETELY gone after a month as well as the smaller ones around my eyes, lower lip, & the crape paper skin in the hollows of my cheeks. The deep furrows that ran along my upper lip were only minimized by about 50%. The skin on my for head ended up with the shriveled texture your fingers get after being soaked in hot water for too long. It's now been 6 months and to my relief this texture is settling into smooth glossy skin again. The detrimental factor I am left with is a raised deep thick massive red scar which runs along my entire lower jaw line. Foundation does not hide this mess. I am now left with a huge scar along my entire jaw bone. Can you please share your information on treatment? Will a CO2 laser help to minimize this...... another(or several lighter) chemical peels????? What was I thinking!
