I made mini muffins yesterday and iced them with homemade buttercream icing
then did a green christmas tree outline with a piping tip. They were
delicious!! Too bad they looked like a 1st grader decorated them. Maybe I
need more practice
Can you make the mint chocolate chip cookies from betty crocker? I like it
when you do the recipes first, and then tell us if you like them or not.
Sure does save me time and money. Love your videos!! :)
@Kawaiizful no problem it's hard to find strawberries here in the UK that
aren't imported english grown ones are the best in my opinion lol :) glad
to be of help
I love strawberry cake! My wedding cake was strawberry! This is a great
idea, and a good alternative for those looking to trim a few calories with
option #2. TFS
@GothyPingu Oh, thank you. I did'nt see that :) its just really hard to
find fresh strawberries where i live.. :)
15. SpecialtyHealth - FRUITS and VEGGIES: Which ones are good and which one should you avoid!
There is a lot of deceptive advertising about the food we eat, especially in this segment on potatoes. This video may make you suspicious about foods that are ...
+mo O Yeah, no trouble. Just chronic disease, war, drought, famine, monotheistic religion, genocide, "ethnic cleansing", pollution, deforestation and desertification, pollution of waterways, top soil depletion... yep no trouble.
It's this same motley crew of dissident truthers time and again. Taubes,
Dayspring, Mercola, Westman, Miller and the females who ride the male
coattales and rehash their rhetoric (Harcombe, Teicholz, Minger). This
time it's health instead of the 9-11 attack They get a personal thrill and
financial gain out of being dissident authority figures who tell people to
do the opposite of everything factual that is being said by those who they
perceive as establishment authority figures. They're also highly
supportive of the U.S. meat and dairy industry.
---
People are elevating their blood pressure by consuming too much sodium.
The dissidents: Eat more sodium! We needed plenty when we were playing
football in the hot sun in high school.
The followers: I started eating more sodium and my blood pressure went
down. I also bought Mercola's highly overpriced Himalayan sea salt. The
price seems to always be the highest from the source who is the most
dissident. But it's worth it.
---
Breakfast is an important meal for many people.
The dissidents: Everyone should skip breakfast!
the followers; My family and I skip breakfast whenever we feel like it. I
lost 50 lbs! It's great, other than my fainting spells, a miscarriage, and
the kids being sent home from school. I'll do what the male-dominated,
female-inconsiderate, dissident nutrition circles tell me to do.
---
Seek immediate treatment for HIV-AIDS
the dissidents: No! HIV-AIDS is fake. The 'disease' is caused by doctors
stressing you out when they tell you that you have HIV-AIDS and putting you
on needless pharmaceuticals. Buy Mercola's expensive immune-strengthening
supplements instead!
the followers: I bought Mercola's supplements and now I'm cured of the fake
AIDS caused by those terrible doctors who stressed me out.
---
Many people are consuming too much cholesterol.
the dissidents: Eat more cholesterol. It's good for you. In a recent
issue, Time Magazine said Eat Butter right on the front cover!
the followers: I'm eating less plants and more dairy butter and fried
muscle meat. My cholesterol went up greatly but it's probably the fluffy
stuff that's said to be safe. I'm protected. My dissident authority told
me so. Who cares about all the glycotoxtins, nitrosamines, HCA, heme-iron,
and PAH in cooked muscle meat anyway. The Inuit ate plenty of meat and were
healthy, other than the atherosclerosis and advanced osteoporosis that
preserved Inuit mummies revealed before they had any contact with Western
diet.
---
Americans are eating a paltry 200 calories per day of vegetables and fruit
and less than half of that is fresh.
the dissidents: Don't eat fresh vegetables and fruit! It will make you
overweight and diabetic! Eat fried bacon and beef jerky instead like
dissident Chris Kresser says.
the followers: I cut out fresh vegetables and fruit, replaced it with beef
jerky, and lost 60 lbs!
---
Body weight ultimately depends on energy balance. People should at least
be mindful of this fact.
the dissidents: Energy balance is a joke. It can't explain obesity and it
stresses out people by making them feel at least partly responsible for
their own body weight. As dissident Zoe Harcombe says, no one knows where
the old 3500 calorie rule of thumb came from anyway. That proves the whole
concept of energy balance is useless.
the followers: I gave up thinking about energy balance. I lost 60 lbs in 3
months eating 3700 calories per day. When I was 300 lbs and being mindful
of calories, I was eating only 800 calories per day and couldn't lose
weight!
---
Animal food cooked at high temperature has high levels of glycotoxins and
lipid oxidation end-products which damage health as observed in animal
tests.
the dissidents: Eat more fried, barbecued, and grilled animal food like
steak, eggs fried in butter, sausage, bacon, ribs, and pork chops. Atkins
said in his book, "Plow into those prime ribs!" Atkins and President
Eisenhower ate like this. Just be sure to not eat the bun. According to
Gary Taubes, it was the toast that Eisenhower ate that caused his heart
disease and other health problems, not all his fried muscle meat and his
smoking all those years. The researchers who showed that fried eggs, beef,
and bacon have ten times or more glycotoxins and ALE compared with
lower-temperature methods are simply lying.
the followers: I'm eating lots more fried meat but without the bun so that
I'll be protected. I might even start smoking more. After all, the
dissidents in the tobacco industry used to say that smoking is safe and
that the medical establishment was lying.
---
Vitamin D is important and available through food. UV is a risk for skin
cancer.
the dissidents: Buy Mercola's UV tanning bed (which costs about four
thousand dollars) to generate your vitamin D.
the followers: I bought Mercola's $4000 tanning bed, use it every day, and
feel and look great! As proof, my jealous doctor from the establishment
lied to me and told me I now have a suspicious-looking mole that is
enlarging and changing color. I'm taking Mercola's expensive
immune-boosting supplements to ward off any cancer that might be caused by
the UV bed. So the doctors can try to make me feel bad all they want to no
avail. Haha!
+Shakira S Are you kidding? An engineer stands to gain much more cash if he or she works for the military instead of signing the A&E for 9/11 truth petition regarding the inexplicable collapse of building 7. I know engineers who would loose their 6 figure income if they started talking about the collapse of WTC 7 at work. Do you really think that any private company has anywhere near the budget that the government has?
So, fresh fruits and vegetables are causing obesity and heart disease. And
green leafy vegetables aren't good for you. This is like a comedy show.
Those two guys are like self-parody.
+Clyde Rembrandt You have no idea what I look like. However, if I were obese, that would make me the first obese guy with a six pack and 20 inch arms to be called obese. You have issues Clyde. I suggest you get professional help.
+Rob Stuart I agree and it doesn't have anything to do whether he's a nice guy or not....I think he has a lot of nerve getting on here and blthering on about health with a ring of fat around his neck.....sorry doc, you lose on this one. Older or not, that fat is not right.
+ZRowsdower77Hahaha, now being lean is a bad thing? If you want to observe long time vegans who are over 60 and have been lifelong athletes (instead of academics like the guys I already mentioned) try Doug Graham or Jim Morris. //3.bp.blogspot.com/-oQhMu6hpuSw/TkNDC8TQcLI/AAAAAAAAAnI/y9tzR5gzi1M/s1600/Dr.+Douglas+Graham.jpg; //3.bp.blogspot.com/-xNFEWzCXb4E/U5Dr6pwvqmI/AAAAAAAAAQE/yVZOATjoNkY/s1600/1654219_623447531053870_2008073207_n.jpgI guess if the old doctors I mentioned spent as much time lifting weights as they do studying and writing they'd be muscular.
+Clyde Rembrandt All of those people look frail, like a stiff breeze would blow them down. I lost weight by mostly following the McDougall diet, but even when consuming a good amount of calories, I always felt like garbage. I couldn't lift nearly the amount of weight I used to be able to and never felt satisfied. It wasn't until I introduced a good amount of fat and protein back into my diet that I felt good again. Meat and vegetables with some fruit and nuts; that's all you need.
+inculoasorataSure, and you can't tell how much plaque in their coronary arteries someone has just by looking at them either. There could be someone with a BMI of 24 who has an 80% blockage in an artery. There are some non-smokers who are in the early stages of lung cancer too. However, you can't tell if someone of a healthy weight has a mostly blocked artery or if a non-smoker is in an early lung cancer stage just by looking at them. What you can tell by looking at a person is if they are obese or if they smoke and therefore have an increased risk of chronic diseases. What we do know:(1) you can tell if someone is obese by looking at them(2) obesity increases the risk of many chronic diseasesThis doesn't mean that a non obese person might have health issues that are not detectable by visual inspection. It does mean that you can see if someone is obese and therefore you know their obesity poses an increased risk of chronic disease.
+Clyde Rembrandt I don't think you understood what I said. There are people that have high levels of su-cutaneous fat but low levels of endogenous visceral fat. It is the the level of your endogenous visceral fat that determines your risk of disease. And wether you believe it or not there are also people who in spite of having high levels of sub-cutaneous fat are still at low risk because they have low levels of visceral fat and no metabolic abnormalities. It is a scientific fact. Conversely there are thin people that have high levels of visceral fat which puts them at a high risk. Thus the point of the discussion that seems to escape your logic or understanding is that you cannot assume that you know the state of someone's health simply because they are either thin or fat. The statistics indicate that people of all shapes and sizes are afflicted with diseases and that a personal attack on someone's appearance has no place in a discussion that should limit itself to the scientific facts about this video. What the doctor in the video sates is a fact and what he looks like is irrelevant, period. If a pig could speak and it delivered a scientifically correct message it would still be a scientific fact even though it came out of the mouth of a pig. The "smoking example" you refer to is something that in no way or shape has anything to do with what this debate is about and indicates that you are pulling at straws. You are foolish to assume that I would think that smoking does not increase one's health risks. Do not compare apples and oranges and do not put words into my mouth. Maybe you are the one ling under a rock.
+inculoasorataHave you been living under a rock. Study after study has demonstrated that obesity increases the risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes .... So what if there are thin people in poor health? There are also plenty of non-smokers that are in poor health too. Does this mean that smoking doesn't increase one's risk of heart disease, cancer, COPD ...?
+Clyde Rembrandt With your line of reasoning then we would have to assume that all thin people are healthy. Of course we know that being thin is neither a maker nor a guaranty of good health. Their are a lot of sick thin people out there. Let's leave the gratuitous opinions as to one's appearance out of the debate and let's stick to the science. That is all that counts. For your information you can have low sub-cutaneous body fat and endogenous fatty organs. Conversely there are people with higher levels of sub-cutaneous body fat and low levels of endogenous fat tissue in the vital organs. That is a scientific fact.
+ZRowsdower77 How is he not obese? Obese means your BMI is over 30. Do you really think his is under 30? The guy has 3 chins. BTW, not all people over 60 are obese. Do Caldwell Esselstyn, John McDougall, Neal Barnard ... or any other older advocates of plant-based, low-fat diets look obese to you?
+Rob Stuart Is it at all possible that he himself is subject to fat storage dysregulation? That metabolically he is compromised. You are assuming he is fat and always has been, but he is over 60 and his testosterone is probably down considerably, which impacts visceral and abdominal fat accumulation.
+Rob Stuart How nice of you to judge someone on his appearance. There are lean and fit people out there that suffer various hormonal and metabolic syndromes such as diabetes and you would never know it just looking at them. Thus your comment is crass, inappropriate and gratuitous. Don't shoot down the message just because you don't like the messenger. I would like to leave with an old saying and please do not apply this to the doctor in the above video since it is just a metaphor. "The truth, even if it comes out of the mouth of criminal is still the truth regardless".
+ZRowsdower77He's unhealthy looking period. Healthy people look healthy even when they are bigger thicker people. A person (who knows what he or she is doing) can look at someones eyes, skin, tongue and overall build and see exactly how healthy a person is.
+Rob Stuart What I'm saying is that people can't simply look at an individual and get any sort of complete picture of that person's health. Depending on the individual, some people enter a very healthy state of homeostasis with a little extra fat on their bodies. And I'm talking pure fat, not BMI. That's why so often an obese person's new eating plan will work wonderfully until the last 10-20 pounds, at which point it often takes extreme and unhealthy measures to get those last few cosmetic pounds off. Research is pretty strong that an extra 10-20 pounds or so of fat isn't harmful or life-shortening in any way, and is actually healthier for women.
+ZRowsdower77I agree with you 100% and in no way promote an ultra skinny look. To me he is NOT an old man. He in no way looks vibrant, healthy, energized etc. He is far from obese but hes also not a heavily muscled bigger fraimed guy. Hes a normal size man who is holding way to much fat around his gut and neck. Those are two signs that his hormones and digestion are way off... NOT HEALTHY. AGAIN this is not a personal attach on this dude. He seems very nice. This is my critique of this video. TAKE ADVISE FROM PEOPLE GETTING THE RESULTS THAT YOU DESIRE!!!! you desire to have health like this guy... go for it, follow his advise. You can see where it got him!
There's a difference between being cosmetically overweight and being unhealthily overweight. He's not obese, he's just an older gentleman with a small amount of extra flab. I hate the notion that skinny=healthy and if someone has even 10-15 "extra" pounds that they are unhealthy. It's just not true.
+KavetrolTotally not a personal attach on the older gentlemen. Its just I have no trust or desire to take health advise from people who have bad health. Im not going to let someone preach to me about how healthy eating tons of fat and animal protein is when he looks very un healthy. Just a black and white outlook. Im sure hes very nice guy and means well. Again its nothing personal and in no way trying to pick on him.
