Homeschool Curriculum & Baby Update 32 Weeks [Wednesday With Anna]
Today we have a Homeschool curriculum and Pregnancy Update. If you have a question or topic for an upcoming Wednesdays with Anna please leave it in the ...
I know that feeling, but then my kids got older, and my daughter went off
to college, and I enjoy my time alone but miss them when they aren't here.
At one point, we were homeschooling, our son was in and out of physical,
occupational, speech, and other therapies (due to high functioning autism
and other issues), and it got overwhelming. You are right - it's only a
season. And it passes by so quickly, so try to really enjoy it because one
day you will look back like me and wonder where the time went! And I
totally understand what you mean about being surrounded by people and
feeling alone. That is how I felt often, and even now, that the kids are
older, when they are all here, they are busy and I often still feel alone.
I love hearing about what you are doing, how you are feeling, and I love
how raw you are about your feelings. Sometimes people just need to know
they aren't alone in what they are going through as a mother and wife.
You were so describing my life at the beginning of your video! I have 7
children (9,8,7,5,3,2 and 3 months old) and I feel so lonely sometimes but
literally no break unless my husband pushes me out the door so definitely
no time with just Ben and I!! I keep telling myself "time and season"! My
kids are grade 4, grade 3, grade 2, prep, 3 year old kinder and "the
babies". I have a question....how do you afford to do classes? I am
hoping your answer isn't just "we budget for it". Here in Australia
classes are VERY expensive and often don't accommodate little kids there
but need me. I am exhausted just thinking about the idea! Many thanks,
Katherine
I can completely relate to never being alone, but feeling alone! Don't be
too hard on yourself, you have a lot on your plate! You seem like such a
wonderful mommy! BTW, we are in a transition to a different curriculum as
well and while we're waiting for the new books to arrive we've been using
khanacademy.com and //allinonehomeschool.com, both programs are free.
I thought you might be interested so you'd have something easy to go to and
hold you over until your books arrive. They are also great because the kids
can do their math online, then you don't have to bother printing out all
the worksheets! So happy to see another Wednesday with Anna! :-)
Lived this video! You made me cry when you said, "I'm not alone but I'm
lonely.". I totally get that and feel that way pretty often.
I homeschool my first grade twin girls, and babysit 3 little boys four days
a week. I've never heard of math mammoth or any of the other curriculums
you talked about. I too use many different books for different subjects.
The dollar store has some good things for school as well. :-).
So glad to hear about your oldest loving his science class! Any more talks
on homeschool would be appreciated. But I do also love your guys' Money
Mondays.
Totally want the beans and rice recipe video!!! I'm 22 weeks preggo, so
your ten weeks ahead of me! I feel like 32 weeks is forever away! I would
love to see a homeschool ditl. We are getting ready to start homeschooling
our oldest son for kindergarten, so would love to see what you have picked
for the fall for Ella. Also curious what you and joel, do/use for
discipline at home. You guys always seem so calm cool and collected with
your kiddos. I am working on not flying off the handle so much! EEEEKKK!!!!
Thanks for the update!!!!
Beans and rice casserole sounds great. Love to see it. We love listening to
you. Hope you find peace and balance in the next phase of your pregnancy. I
remember feeling that way when I was a stay at home mom. Maybe you need a
mommy break a walk or time with a friend away from the kiddos. Find
something that your passionate about like your crafts and take a mommy time
out.
I did not know you homeschooled! I just started watching for the Money
Monday's, and budgeting videos- we homeschool also, 1st grade, kindergarten
and a 4 year old. I'd love to hear your thoughts about organizing how you
teach the different levels, your basic schedule (Wednesday's being
different, etc.), and how you fit household chores into all that!
You look so radiant! Sending prayers your way. :) I would love to hear more
about home birth! I love hearing other people's stories and perspectives. I
would like to have one in the future, and like you Anna, I am a planner and
organizer! I think it's naturally programmed in me!
+LiveLikeNoOneElse I always love Wednesdays with Anna :) My husband and I
are going through a really tough season right now as well and I love to
hear your encouragement and the way you push through despite going through
trials. Thanks for always sharing your heart :)
Oh Anna, thank you for sharing what's on your heart. I, as a mommy of
three, often feel very alone and cling to God to lift me up. I know I
don't know you but through your vlogs you seem like an amazing wife and
mom. Take care of yourself friend!
Anna, I find you to be such a kind, sweet soul. Thank you for sharing your
lives with us. :)
Also, have you tried essential oils when the kiddos have trouble sleeping
through the night? I have found they work amazingly, especially on kiddos!
We use MathUSee, SpellingUSee, Story of the World, and we love the "Cut and
Paste" series for sentence mapping, sight words, extra science. This was
our first year of homeschooling and we definitely had to be flexible and
roll with it.
Thanks for sharing on homeschool! My oldest starts kindergarten in
September and my middle will be starting preschool so I have been looking
at curriculum like crazy and I think I have found some programs that will
work for us!
CM is so customizable to your individual children. Its a philosophy more
so than a curriculum. We use amblesideonline.org. There is a lot of
support here. Simply Charlotte Mason is also a great resource. Best
wishes!
Thank you for sharing! This is my first yr homeschooling. I will pray for
you and your family for your wants and needs and as always thank you for
always motivating me. I nervously made my first video eeekkk...
Hugs, mama. I made the lasagna with my 5 year old daughter today. It turned
out delicious :-). And she was so happy to contribute :-). Would love to
see the beans and rice casserole. Thank you for sharing.
A recipe you all might like Anna....we love it here and you can omit the
jalapeño since you have little ones...
