Parkinsonism Surgery including Deep Brain Implants with Abdul Rana MD
Dr. AQ Rana, a Neurologist and World-renown Educator in Parkinsonism, is going to speak about the role of Surgery in some cases of Parkinsonism; when it ...
I learned a lot. I can relate with patients that are scared of surgery.
However, as Dr. Rana has said, most patients go through surgery
successfully and undergo a significant improvement in their quality of
life. Thus, surgery is worth the risk (unless the physician deems them
unfit for surgery by assessing cognitive or psychiatric conditions).
Quite a comprehensive discussion on both the role of surgery in PD, as well
as some of the other symptoms such as psychosis, brought up by some of the
great minds in this talk!
It is beneficial to know that Deep. Brain Implant surgery results in
transient side effects and has been widely implemented! Thank you for
sharing this with us.
An excellent video! A good resource for anyone who is interested in
Parkinson's disease and want to know more about the current techniques in
neurosurgery.
