Where exactly did the water come in, through the top? How was the top constructed?Did the water seep in from where top joined the sides.It seems to me a steel box welded tight would have preserved the car.

Why bury it ? Would've been better in a vault maybe triple wrapped in plastic with no exposure to air or light What miscalculation but hey... nature always gets the last word.
