Egg will get the oil out of your hair. Just take the yolk add a tablespoon
of water and mix it up and use it as a wash and it will get the oil
out...just make sure to rinse with cold water or you'll be a scrambled egg
head ;)
Hi! I loved this video! I am grateful to see all of us (women) going to
simpler methods to meet our hair needs. The simpler methods actually exceed
our expectations! Good job!
Yes, you're so right. Shampoo didn't even exist 100 years ago. Yet all the women had strong, healthy, and beautiful hair. Simple methods are the best. xx
Thanks a lot for the tipps, they really helped me. However, I still have a
question concerning dandruff. I have the feeling that since I use the no
poo methos my hear is full of dandruff which I didn't have before. Do you
know what i can do against it? cheers
Your scalp might be sensitive to pH fluctuations that happen during the wash with baking soda. In that case it would be best to try a different method with gentler pH. xx
Hi, I really need ur help. I have bleaching my hair, and i had hair
extensions, soo now when i do not bleach it and when i removed the
hair-extensions, my hair, falls out A LOT, and i dont know what to do, it
went 2 times thinner now....Also my scalp is very greasy and my ends very
dry due to bleach left overs....I tried coconut oil rubbed in my scalp, and
it made my hair fall out like crazy, i guess cuz my scalp is already greasy
as hell. I got really really scared. Plase help me, with some
recommedation, cuz i wanan go no poo, but dunno what will be good to
prevent my hair to fall out this much, and i feel like i dont have the
luxury to let my hair fall out any more then this.
+Diana Nastic Hi! I'm so sorry to hear that your hair isn't doing well right now, but I'm sure that with a bit of patience and perseverance your hair will be strong and healthy again. It seems like it needs to detox from all that bleach now and it also needs a lot of nourishment from both inside and out. If your hair is already very stressed, I wouldn't try baking soda and vinegar, at least for now because it can cause shedding for some people, so don't risk. Go for a very natural and gentle shampoo for sensitive scalps. You said coconut oil didn't work for you, but you could try castor oil, which is extremely healing and promotes thicker and stronger hair. If you can get hold of burdock oil, you can mix it with castor oil 50/50 or simply mix castor oil with a lighter oil, such as jojoba or pumpkin seed oil. Don't keep it on your scalp for more than 30-60 minutes (I find that otherwise it starts itching and irritates the scalp a bit). Eat a lot of healthy fats, and make sure you get enough biotin (hazelnuts are a great source). I really feel for you, and I really hope your hair will recover soon! xx
HI ! I just wanted to ask if I can use the method that you recommended for
starters, all the time not just at the beginning.?? I usually wash my hair
3 times per week. Because I sweat a LOOOOT at work.... Can I blow dry my
hair?? and what do you recommend I use to protect it against the heat??....
If I use coconut oil or some other oil in my hair (not necessarily before
blow drying it) would it be damaged if I expose it to sunlight? Please I'm
New at this... :-)
Thank you!!!!! I am sooo EXITED!!!!! I've been waiting for so long, and tried sooo many products and my hair just kept on getting worse and Ihave to apply more than one product to style it and keep it under control. Thank you again for responding so quickly. Have a Great Day!!!
+Adny Trolechic Hi! Welcome to no-poo world! :-) I wouldn't recommend washing with baking soda and vinegar more than once or twice per week. If you need a third time in a week, maybe just use a regular shampoo at the beginning while you transition? You can also try to wash using just the vinegar rinse alone in between the washes to make your hair last longer between proper washes during the transition period. To protect your hair from hot tools, just use any oil that you like using on your hair. Different oils work for different people. I love pumpkin seed oil and jojoba oil the most. Lots of people love argan oil. Others swear by coconut oil. You'll beed to experiment to see what looks best on your particular hair. It won't be damaged by sunlight if you regularly apply some oil on it (just like using a regular shampoo). Good luck! :-) xx
Thanks for sharing your experience and information. I am on my 8th day of
no-poo and my hair is a bit greasy at times but really has more body and
right after I brush or comb it, it looks gorgeous. If my hair gets blown
or moves around alot it tends to show some greasiness. I know my hair and
scalp are still adjusting. And my hair is pretty fine as well. Thanks
again!
+Sandra Pottebaum Great! Thanks for sharing your experience so far. In a month or so the transition will be over, and you'll see how great your hair is going to look. xx
I use a shampoo bar from chagrin valley to clean my hair and then do the
acv rinse. I heard doing the baking soda can be harsh so I opted for the
bar. However, after a day my hair still gets greasy. When I first started
using it I got great results, but now it's been four months and I can't go
two days without washing my hair. I'm going to try the plan that you laid
out and I hope it works. Is using a shampoo bar still considered no poo or
low poo?
I doubt that less than 1 tbsp would be acidic enough to normalize the pH levels. Some people even go as far as using 3 tbsp, so it seems like 1 tbsp would be quite a minimal amount. xx
Oh, do you think it's ok to decrease the amount of acv? I naturally have an oily scalp so i figured decreasing the amount may do something, I'm not sure. I started with one tablespoon, to a teaspoon and now I'm up to half a teaspoon. I obviously don't want to take the acv out completely because I understand it has to normalize the pH levels but is half a teaspoon enough? I also think the oiliness attributes to washing it too often so right now I'm trying hold off until the 5th day to wash it.
+Linda Soria Good question! :-) I think it's probably no poo as well. I also tried a lot of different shampoo bars, but they all leave my hair greasy and scalp itchy. We probably have similar hair. Baking soda can be harsh can be harsh if you use too much of it and too often. Start slow from 1 tbsp per cup and you'll be fine. You can always increase a little if you feel you need more cleansing power. Good luck! xx
