Etsy used to take 3% plus $.20 (plus credit card fees if you use their payment system. Has it changed?

This was great and really helpful. I've had an etsy store since 2009 but never put any items for sale on it because I just absolutely hate dealing with the whole labels/trip to the post office thing. I know you and Holly mentioned printing your own labels and such but could you do a video on how to make packing and post office trips less painful to do? Mainly I'm just lazy but this video has been encouraging!

The Etsy customer is different; as is the Ebay, Amazon,and Craig's Lister - all different, yet all potential buyers. Hence the sales approach is tweaked and tailored to all.

I agree, it takes some adjustment starting on Etsy especially if you are an eBay seller but if you have the right stuff, you have a tribe, you can make money. Thanks for watching.

Etsy is great! There are people who feel more comfortable shopping on Etsy. I list on both Ebay and Etsy. More eyes = More profit!! :) :) Plus, there are great teams to join that help promote each other. It's great.

I have sold a few vintage items on etsy. I think 8 of them. I like Etsy. I have sold on Ebay for over 10 years. We have the vintage Electric Insulators and Hubby wants to make lights with them.

I love Etsy. I started selling handmade items on Etsy in 2007 and did well. Took a hiatus in 2010 and started again last year re-opening my Handmade shop and opening a new Vintage shop as well. I love their customers, I love the low fees, and I love how user friendly the platform is. Last week I sold more on Etsy than I did on eBay. I LOVE ETSY!

I like Etsy, been there a little over a year. I've finally gotten my ave daily views up to 10 now and ave 1 sale month, so very pleased with it. Really helps to have lots of items, right now I'm getting 18-25 items a month from thrifting, auctions, garage sales but splitting it between ebay, amazon and etsy.

I heard that one of the most successful "crafters" on etsy sells "crafted" stuff that is "crafted" in china by people in a factory. My biggest pet peeve with Etsy is that their rules are so wishy washy and up for interpretation and it seems like if you are "hip and trendy" you can get away with a lot of stuff that some other people might not get away with - just some of my thoughts. I have often thought that if I was going to sell vintage on etsy that I would just as well start up my own site instead but purely for making a profit, you can do so good on crafting type items.

That is true, their are some power houses that have all china made products that they sell like hotcakes on Etsy.Yep Etsy is like the wild west, they have rules of course but doesn't seem like lots are enforced. I have been doing very well with Etsy and with their IPO coming out I think it will put them on the map for sure. Thanks for watching Andrew
