What brand crimp tools are you using, mil3 or another? They look like the
mil3s. How do you like them? I repair/repipe mobile homes for a living,
using stainless cinch clamps now but have been thinking of trying copper
crimp instead. I've been wanting to switch over to the uponor expansion
system but the higher cost of their stop valves has kept me away so far,
most of my clients wouldn't be able to afford the upgrade.
+Chase Hawes Mil3, they work just fine I have the Uponor expansion tools as well but at the end of the day you still have to crimp to poly if you're just repairing anyway so you can get by with just those IMO thanks for watching Chase
I don't hardly ever work with any crimp type of pex, but isn't uponor pipe
the same ID as crimp to where you could make all of your tees using
expansion type fittings and just crimp your transitions? Just seemed
difficult due to lack of space. Kudos for doing it though. Nice work.
those wirsbo to poly transition fittings are great and are really hard to find at suppliers here, I've asked supply houses to start carrying them countless times I have some but I save them for the jobs where I really really need them because I know its not going to be easy to find another one. thanks for watching Tim
+Jason the Plumber PB fittings have more barbs because PB is a thinner material, which means it compresses slightly less than pex when crimped, so more barbs were used to ensure(or try to) a watertight seal.
Correct you can use the same tool on both. The inside diameter is different the pex tubing is thicker making the barb have a smaller inside diameter the number of barbs I cannot answer that I have no idea I guess just the specs of the manufacturer.
Slackers in St. Charles MO
A visit to Slackers in St. Charles Missouri in the suburbs of Saint Louis Missouri. Slackers is a video game, comic book, anime, toy, arcade game, DVD, blu-ray ...
I don't live in Missouri, however right down the street from there is a
place called Game Trader in Saint Charles Missouri. It's a bit messy but
they have a nice inventory of retro games.
