Every time i do this my lower back hurts. I know i gotta engage the glutes
but should i try like flexing my glutes for the entire set? Or just flex
the glute when doing a certain part of the press?
Do you happenen to have the video to the deadlifting one you're referring to Pim? I'll probably search around for it if not. Need to work on that, as well as pendlay rows still.
+AlphaSphere Yeah Rippetoe also talks about his own Press technique, he adds a little hip thrust. Watch his video's, perhaps he can give better cues. (I watched his deadlift instructions and got some golden tips from that)

He's very knowledgeable, one of the best coaches out there. Really helped me getting my squat form down. Go onto that channel I posted, I think he goes over other compound exercises too, haven't watched them yet.
+Pim Vd Steeg Tried it last workout. Flexed my glutes and abs every rep but still hurting my lower back due to hyper extension. Going to try some more, i'm probably just not used to it.
+AlphaSphere Try to flex your abs too, and perhaps at the bottom of each rep, rock your hips forward a little, it feels as if you lean a little bit back with your upper back (but you keep your glutes and abs flexed so your lower spine stays neutral). This is what helps for me to prevent hyperextension of the lower back. At least focus on flexing your glutes and abs the whole time to keep your hips and lower back in a neutral position.
+Bradley MartynYes ofcourse, I was one of the first 20 viewers! I apologize for reacting so agressive. It's because you're one of the few youtubers who's still down to earth. And we would want you to keep it that way!
+Sergio MercadoI do follow him. Whatcha gonna say now? I remember him saying that he apologizes, he was gonna upload it yesterdaynight. Lol still no vid
