Help Patioelf. I just decoupaged some wallpaper onto the front of a desk
draw. I tried to use the the method of sanding the excess after the
wallpaper had dried. I know I used the wrong grit. Any advice for applying
wallpaper to furniture?
Hi Patti +patioelf. Thx. Yes I think for wallpaper I will cut closer to the size needed with less excess. In the end I used an exacto blade and gently took my time and the piece came out nicely. My next dilemma is how to protect this wallpaper on the furniture. Do you recommend anything. I also have various waxes Im thinking of using although the mod podge may be just enough. I haven't done anything yet. Im waiting for the right answer to hit me.
Hi there, you can still use regular sand paper but in a heavy grit. With wallpaper, which tends to be thick, you would want to try to measure and cut it to the size you need rather than sanding the edges-I'm not sure if this helps you now. I wasn't sure if you were wondering how to fix what's on there or what to do in the future when using wallpaper. Let me know if you have anymore questions though ok? Patti
