This was a most loving thing to do for this baby. It may look barbaric, but
in fact, it was quite the opposite. There is almost no blood supply or
nerves to the frenum. A frenum is simply vestigial embryonic tissue that
sometimes anchors the tongue tightly to the floor of the mouth. Hard to
believe, but the consequences of not releasing it are usually lifelong
serious health problems. I assume some of those with negative comments did
not review the reasons it is required elsewhere on the site.
My six week old daughter required this procedure because she was tongue
tied. Because of this condition she wasn't attaching to my wife's breast,
wasn't putting on enough weight and the doctor said she might have a speech
impediment when she grew up. I held her head still while she was strapped
into the thing boys are circumcised in. She was more traumatized by being
restrained than the cutting. She stopped crying about 30 seconds after the
snip. My wife in the next room was more upset.
I used to do this as an out patient, once had a scare, sooner or later you
have a bleeder, not a nice thing within an office enviroment, and mom
holding the baby, a swab with pediatric oximetazoline did the trick, I use
now a very small amount of lidocaine (that is lignocaine, for the British)
with epinefrine on an insulin syringe, and touch it with my radio frecuency
tip, of course anestethic ointment or a swab with lidocaine spray was used
first¡¡¡¡¡
@rachelswanson i've had it done..esp a 'surgery' that took about 5 seconds
tops...literally......which is why they don't drug up a baby, it would be
completely point less..a baby getting there ears peirced would be more
painful..it's not as bad as your making it out to be and fyi i wouldn't let
some looney tune off the internet come near me with a sharp object..i'll
leave that up to the professionals who actually kno what they're doing!
@rachelswanson yeah but why give a baby some type of drug when it only
takes one sec to do....and the baby is mainly crying because its confused
doesn't kno whats going on and some random lady is all up in his grill (aka
mouth)....i think that would only be necessary if it was going to take a
long time..and if it was going to be REALLY painful..
It is arguable that the baby needed this but I think that the baby
benefited from it. the thing that I think doctors need to realize is that
they treat people, not patients. these people are going to have to live
with what these doctors do to them. they mostly need to change their
attitude towards people. its a baby, not a ham.
All I can say is that I'm having a baby in a few months and I don't believe
in doing ANY surgical procedure without anesthetic. Then again, I'm an
intactivist and most newborn procedures performed are strictly cosmetic in
this shallow country. Poor little baby. I wish they would have given
him/her something for the pain.
my 7 day old has a mild ankyloglossia (tongue-tie). watching how simple
this procedure is is making me consider it, although other literature seems
to suggest that most kids outgrow it
They cut the tissue because it was too short and would not allow for proper
movement of the tongue. It would inhibit speech and breastfeeding if it was
left that way.
I had this done when I was a teenager. My dentist used a local anesthesia
(how come in babies they always skip that?) and it was pretty sore a few
days after.
Really nice close up in ur nipple to much information. and I don't want to
hear bf is natural etc etc no duh but u don't have to put a close up on
YouTube.

Penis enlargement surgery ruined my marriage. My wife used to allow access
to the back door if you know what I mean. After adding 2 inches and girth
to my penis she closed the backdoor. I was forced to visit massage parlors
to regain entry to the rear passage, though this was an oriental gate. I
ended up divorcing my wife and marrying one of the massage girls who allows
me unrestricted access. I must say my mega dong sliding in and out of her
silky white bottom is quite nice.
