@ichbineincoolcat, Lazy eyes are common among all people. It may be more
noticeable in blacks because we have dark eyes and the contrast of our dark
iris against the white of the eye, and further contrasting our dark skin
makes even the slightest misalignment noticeable. I in fact inherited mine
from my non-black grandfather. It is genetic like having one leg longer
than the other or a gap between your teeth. There are different kinds of
'lazy eye' some can be treated others like mine can not.
@kitty3309, And you are normal! Everyone has flaws it just so happens that
ours is our eyes which is the first thing that people look at:( But that is
ok. Beauty is never what you look like but how you carry yourself! Love
yourself and how you look. I love keeping my hair/nails/clothes pretty but
none of that makes me beautiful, it is my confidence and my always bubbly
personality that makes people want to be around me. Peace:)
@kitty3309, Yes, even if you do overcome your flaws, you can not change
other judgmental people. Middle and High school was not easy but I thank
God it is over and that I had a group a friends who loved me
regardless. There were childish people who pointed it out or threw it in my
face when they got mad at me but my true friends never did that and never
even asked me about it, not that if they did I would mind... Continued....
You know sometimes I get so mad about how people treat me different because
of my eye problem but then like you said, without it I`d be just like
everyone else. It sucked going through school but now I`m older you come to
realise that the people who have an issue with it or treat you different
just aren`t worth your time. Yeah, I still wish I was 'Normal' and 'pretty'
but it`s who I am.
@DanielJamesLewis Wow that is very brave. I definitely considered surgery
but since my eyes operate fine the way they are, (from my perspective
anyway!), I decided against it. I will pray all goes well with your surgery
Mr. Daniel. Please come back and share your results.
