Hi Justin! Yes, I am still on insulin, but have greatly increased my
sensitivity to it on 811 and perhaps someday will be totally off it. On a
high-fat, low-carb raw vegan diet, I got down to 1 unit/day but felt
terrible, constantly craving carbs (and I didn't know it at the time, but
was becoming very insulin-insensitive). This led me to 80-10-10, on which I
feel fantastic, and am reversing my diabetic retinopathy. Thanks for the
encouragement. Not sure to what you are referring with pg/ml.
Hi Tasha, 1. I'm a dietetics student and am very interested in how 80/10/10
is effecting T1D. I've heard a lot of people talk about it healing T2, but
you are the first that I have heard talk about its effects on T1. One
question, you are still on insulin though, right? (I watched your 11/12
month update) 2. we started about the same time, I started in December
2011. 3.. pg/ml = picograms per milliliter. and 4. You're cute (I'm
married), but still yet, you're a hottie.
oh maybe i was talking about a lab test? i didn't watch the video to find
out to what you were referring and it was a year ago so i don't remember
what i was talking about. :) ok, thanks, good to know. :)
@wendo1384 i believe its "pure vegan" spray. i just ran out; going to try
something different since the spray has glycerine, which is bad for the
teeth. but it sure tastes good! :)
@maiOmai216 thanks! i sent you the link to my written blog, that has teeth
pictures. yep, lots of differing advice...i tried many paths before i
settled on low-fat raw vegan as my favorite and what seems like it will be
best for me!! :)
1Yr+3Month Type 1 Diabetes & Low-Fat Raw Vegan Update
Holy Cow that's crazy I was told the exact same thing about cholesterol
medication. My nurse practitioner tells me well every one diabetic goes on
some type of cholesterol pill. "we need to get you on Medication I fill
this out for you for cholesterol tabs" I tore up the prescription and said
hell no I can lower my cholesterol myself. It made me angry that she didn't
have faith in me. She goes to write me another prescription and predates it
would you keep this just in case.
I also threw that prescription in the trash. In the year that I've been
diagnosed to being diabetic. My HDL has risen by 22% and my bad LDL 575 is
now 290 something. I have cut out most sugar satrated and trans fats and I
have eliminated dairy out of my diet by half. And I no longer drink milk. I
have replaced that with almond milk. And it no longer cheese frutose has
chemicals that tell our bodys were not full. so we keep eating..
It's really good to hear your updates. Hey, I believe a u/mma and
homocysteine test are needed for accuracy for B12, as the standard test
only shows how much is in the blood, not how much the body is utilizing it
(low B12 is seen in standard meat diets as well as veggie diets)
Congratulations for your cholosterol levels! I don't know what my HDL or
LDL levels are, but I've been a vegan for 2+ years and a diabetic for 1 and
my total cholosterol level is... 104. haha.. Anyhow, congratulations on
your progress! Good luck :)
