Breastfeeding During Pregnancy TAG - **ORIGINAL** // Kristin as Mama
Hi, I am Kristin. A sahm of two boys with baby #3 on the way. Thanks for stopping by my channel! I would love to connect with you. ***Let me know if you do this ...
Was/Is your Ped supportive? No one else in my life ever tries to tell me
what to do with my kids because they know I'm much more educated than they
on anything to do with breastfeeding, baby led weaning, etc.lol But you
know how doctors can be..."Moms know nothing" type attitude. She was
seemingly concerned at our 1 year Well that LO was only using me at a
pacifier and if she's not hungry she shouldn't be nursing...suggested ways
to wean her. But it could also be that I was expressing a want-to-wean kind
of attitude so she might've just been trying to help.
Mine will be 17 months apart (due in Sept), I am coming to grips with the
fact that I will probably be Tandem nursing. Did you stop nursing on one
side to prep that boob for baby or simply nurse Newbie first? The nurses
and drs I've come across in my area/hospital are NOT educated on
breastfeeding and will probably freak out when I am nursing while in
labor!Haha If I could have a home birth to be away from the idiots at the
hospital, I would (illegal here in AL). Anyway, sorry for the book, thanks
for any tips! Good luck and congrats!
Well mine always asks about her food and such so I always include that she's still nursing. The one nurse I always get stuck with is just a B and quite stupid about babies, if you ask me. She told me my 7 month old didn't need to be eating rice and beans..."she needs baby food, like rice cereal." Yup, you're an idiot.lol It's only illegal if you have a midwife or other medical professional helping you. Which is basically what you want.lol
+adjones87 Our pediatrician doesn't really know that I have nursed through pregnancies. I really don't feel like it is any of their business! Haha. I am still nursing on both sides. Baby will just come first after she arrives, your body always favors the youngest. Mine will be 16 months apart. I had no idea home birth was illegal in some states! That stinks. Congrats on your upcoming little one! :)
I'm currently tandem nursing my 3.5 yr old and 1.5 yr old and I remember
how hard it was while pregnant. It is still rough every now and then but I
love the bond between my 2 girls!
+Simple Living Mom Thanks! You found this before I knew it was done uploading! Haha. I can't wait to watch yours!

I am sure it is safe yes, but I am not a pumper. I am of the school of thought that pumping does not produce as much milk as feeding directly from the breast. Nor does it produce the oxytocin hormone bond and it can lead to drop in milk production if pumping is relied upon only. Also there is nipple confusion risk with the bottles because bottles are easier to get milk from for baby so they tend to prefer bottle because it takes less work to get the milk. That extra work it takes to get milk from the breast helps develop the jaw and teeth alignment. ALso pumping doesn't decrease postpartum depression in women it also doesn't lessen the breast cancer risk as well as direct nursing does. There really are countless benefits to direct breast feeding. I can't even name them all. but as far as while pregnant goes I think it would be equally uncomfortable because the nipples are just SO sensitive. Ya know? If pumping is a woman's only option then by all means YES do it. Breast milk is better than none even if from a bottle. :)
